I'm going to be purchasing a Laptop within the next 3-Weeks in the $800 or lower range. I figure I can get a decent laptop for that much.
Needs
- Decent DVD Film Playback
- Decent Battery Life
- Mid-range processing power
- Anything else power wise is a nice perk.

You're the first person on this board to ever recommend an Averatec. )
I was struggling with whether or not to choose the 6240 on NB4F forever.

Screensize isn't a huge selling point for me since honestly I'm just as fine with a 12" as a 17" however, I think a 15" or so would do just fine.
Wow $700 for the Dell XPS lowerend models sounds decent, I think I'll give that a look )
EDIT
Well right now it's looking like either an XPS140 or an Inspiron since the XPS series only have 10% off right now IE $70 or so, and the Inspiron I want has $300 off they both come down to about $700.
The Inspiron specs out at
Intel® Core™ Duo processor T2300 (2MB Cache/1.66GHz/667MHz FSB)
15.4" Screen
512MB of DDR2 Ram
40GB HD
DVD Burner
On-board Graphics (
Comes out to $700 to $800 depending which coupon I can get to work.
XPS
Intel® Pentium® M Processor 740 (1.73GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)
14.1WXGA Screen
512MB DDR2 Ram
60GB HD
DVD Burner
On-board Graphics about $600 in the end.
I assume the Dual Core CPU would run a lot better then the Pentium M?
