$83 shipped unless you live in Georgia. i personally buy all my stuff from monarch so i think they're a really reliable dealer. I'm sure you can find a cheaper price on two dimm's of 512 mb but this ram has really low timings and also overclocks a heap without much voltage increase

Other than an extra stick, is there a difference between getting two 512's as opposed to one 1GB?

A single stick will perform better, and it leaves more room on the motherboard for more sticks. Never mismatch (just a btw lol)

actually it really depends on how much you intend on upgrading to. these two sticks running dual channel overclocked will run faster than one stick running single channel. the key thing is that if you intend on upgrading your computer later on, it would be smart to get one stick of memory with one gig on it now so you can grab another one later on to set in dual channel

Yeah that's what I planned on doing since I have 1GB of Corsair XMS Pro and was going to get another.
