I've never heard of Connect Computers as a manufacturer of HDs. Anyone have info on the company. I mean, of course you can't beat $10 anyways.
the crapusa rebate does require upc from the box but send a copy
Same for the other two.
ALWAYS do these two things when it comes to rebates
-print out the rebate at home before u go and buy the item
-copy all materials and have backups in case u need to resend )

Yeah I wanted to buy this before I noticed the manufacturer's name. Compusa also has a 160GB external hard drive for $50 after rebates, but again, its not from a name-brand manufacturer.

If you are looking at this and really considering it, just wait for the next Black Friday, and buy up then. (Last BF there were 250GB Maxtor drives @ $39.99AR)

We can't all wait for one day a year to do all our shopping...

Who said I did?
I'm saying that if you're looking at this with any sort of real intent to buy, then you're probably in a position where you'd be better off waiting. )
If you can afford better, then you should probably steer clear.
Incidentally, I browsed CompUSA's site for other stuff from Connect Computers, and see that they sell mobo/cpu bundles like Cyberpower does.
I guess they also used to build PCs too, if this is the same company

Their website is down though. Although I found an archive

Maybe CompUSA bought out the company or something....

wait for black friday? that is the stupidest idea i have ever heard... why would you wait half a year to save 100 bucks? unless you dont really want or need it... that makes sense... but come on!
good deal... big rebate, there are some places where the rebates come fast and easy, like tigerdirect, and others where they come in a loong time or dont come at all cuz you have to fill them out SOOO SPECIFIC

I thought tigerdirect was notoriously bad at fulfilling rebates?

actually no...
it might be kind of annoying if you order online because you have to wait to get the UPC but there are locations in chicago and florida... so i guess in that sense...

Well, if there's that critical a need, then I'd agree, but I'd pass this up due to the quality issue for that reason. Now, if you're doing ok, and [i361acc18d4]can[/i361acc18d4] wait, I'd pass this up for BF, or at [i361acc18d4]least[/i361acc18d4] scour Newegg etc. for something better in the meantime.
I come from the "Buy in quantity when the price is right" viewpoint. I have good storage at the moment, because I anticipated what I'd need in future, put a bit aside, and made good purchases at the best times.
If you are looking at this drive from the "Damn, I'm out of space, and have no other choice" viewpoint, then whatever else you do, it's probably a good idea to mark the calendar in November...

Oh yeah, I watched your Doctor Who show. A whole 5 minutes ago. The dude was talking to a dried out square thing.
