Twon,

They will send you a $200 gift card or you will have to wait for Apple to release this phone without a contract. Currently you cannot buy that phone without first signing up to ATT's contract. The subsidy for this phone for qualified customers is only $200, hence, you wait or get $200.

I'm stuck in this cycle from May. I'd try a different site.

Have you tried to complete any before where you just didn't get the reward? Or one where no matter how many offers you do, they won't credit?

My friend did one but when he went to get his certificate to fill it out it told him his canadian zip code was correct. He was too lazy to follow up with them on it. I think he emailed them and they just ignored him.

If they do process you they will drag there feet to send your gift. no brandarama like but if it say 8 weeks they will take it all

Why does DIY seem to be so popular as of late if it takes forever? You have to have it in the back of your mind that you are going to get screwed.

Also, is it common to have to get referrals for these? How is it DIY when you need refs?

Twon,

I know you have a trade thread, and I just want to give you a heads up that you can't make an offer for someone to be your ref on a DIY site.

I'm not sure why, but it's not allowed..........

I am not even interested in doing a DIY site that requires refs. )
Thanks though.

If you don't have it in the back of your mind that you might get screwed, you're probably going into the wrong way. I do DIY because I got sick of the ref/payout ratio required for ref sites. The offer/payout ratio is much better for DIY sites.

DIY is currently in a little bit of a rut as of late. I think the reason people like it is because as little as a year ago, you could still get Plasmas, Laptops, and cash for very little effort or requirements. It was the best kept secret out there.

For a number of reasons, all the companies are backing off the great payouts and some look like they are on the way out of business. Hence the long waits and the sense of doom in the back of some of these peoples minds.

Long story short, it used to be great. It's still inexpensive, just not as fast or fantastic. Ideal is still the best out there even with higher numbers of offers required and the lower payouts.

Here's hoping at some point it will be great again. And before everybody crashes in to proclaim the death of DIY. So whatif it does die? We did good along the way, so chose to be happy for what you've gotten so far.

Hope that helps.
