YFD and YuWi Source - Keep an eye open

I got a box in the mail at an old mailing address (a neighbor called to tell me about it) from YiWu Source (correct name, address, phone #). I called and spoke to Yu-Wi source, and they told me the email addresses. I checked the email account, and there was a confirmation email from YiWu Source; this is an an email address that I only used on YFD sites

The order was placed at a time when I was out of town, using a credit card I don't have. Other folks on another forum have experienced the same thing with orders being shipped to them from Yu-Wi Source, and emails sent to YFD email addresses.

There was no billing info listed, but, it's weird and very concerning that an offer I've never completed was completed in my name at a random ass email address, using my correct, albeit old info. I'm very concerned about YFD having sold our information to Yu-Wi source, or worse, creating leads for themselves by signing us up for this product.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

Yep, happened to me about 3 weeks ago.

Happened to a friend 2 weeks ago.

Happened to someone on another forum a few weeks back as well.

The only way I knew it was from YFD was because the CS at Wu-Yi listed off a YFD email I used over a year ago.

I bet someone bought our info from YFD and started making some money off of us. twisted

How much was the charge for? I got two random ass charges on my account for $3.95.

doylnea

01-12-2008 12:56:55

It wasn't charged to any credit card of mine; another forum is guessing that the person who placed the order is using a gift card, or one time use credit card numbers.

How was it shipped? I missed a ups package today and can't figure out for my life where it was from...also, do you know what city it came from?

I got this garbage too - and it came via regular mail. They gave me the last four digits of a credit card I did not recognize either. I still don't know what email address was used.

Mine came from UPS. I was never charged for it, but someone was. Guessing someone spent $5 bucks to make $38 off the lead.

Strange. About 20 mins after I read this post I got a call from this company. It came up as 218.724.2094 on my phone. The lady was calling to confirm that I placed the order and got all of the information I had requested.. They had sent this order to an old address from the time I was doing a YFD site. She asked me to verify the last 4 digits of my visa card.. She offered up the numbers and it wasn't mine. I told her I didn't place the order...

Is it a violation? I know that a lot of DIY sites DO sell your information (mainly email) to other sites. I don't think that any other site has gone this far but they may be within their PP by doing this.

I guess it could be through the companies hosted by them.

heather77

Not only did I get the tea, it was postage due since it was forwarded from my old address, so I refused it. PLUS someone signed me up for 2 other memberships with my old address, a credit check one and the trilegiant savings plus, AND re-activated my long-cancelled callwave account. This is kind of scary. I've been watching my cc statements like a hawk.

that is pretty scarey, specially since you are dealing with credit check offers now...

heather77

23-12-2008 11:10:18

I think the credit check thing will be OK, hopefully, because they used a fake email address. I got a letter saying that they weren't able to send my membership information via email. So, I think whoever is doing it couldn't actually access my credit report, they just signed up for the membership.

Not really, if he said his giftcard was only for $10 so the company couldn't try to overcharge him to death at a later date and time, sell his personal info, and eat his grandmother if he tries to op out, then ya it might be fraud but it could have been a $500 card that said compnay could charge and charge again if he loved thier wonderful product. Be we just don't know now do we?

man, I agree.
we throw the term fraud around way too loosely...
I've used a 250 and 1000 visa for offers before, and there's nothing wrong with that because I had sufficient funds on the cards. It's like saying paying for anything with a check is fraud just because some crooks write bad checks from closed accounts.

Well, I just got a box from Wu-Yi myself. Called them, and they mentioned a Visa credit card, which I have never owned. They canceled "my" account. Don't know what to do with the tea now.

My hubby opened the box 3 days ago and we didn't find any invoice. It was just a box of tea with their marketing catalogs. I have been watching my accounts closely but no charges liyetli.

Anyway, I tried the tea and love it! D Since I'm a tea lover, I'm willing to pay shipping to those who want to get rid of their WUYI tea. )

Anyone? D

Thanks,

Well, looks like this company is losing money in sending (tea freebies) more teas! I received another package in the mail today and there are 3 boxes of WuYi Tea inside without the Acai Berry Supplements. Again, no invoice- just their standard marketing materials inside.

Actually, I called them yesterday and spoke to one of their representative. She informed me that they don't have my name in their database or she has no records of any previous orders or membership under my name etc. I told her they cannot keep sending freebies to people!

She put me on hold and transferred me to her supervisor who was not nice at all. She declared that since I am not a member, there is nothing they can do!?! I even told her that I will return the package but she already hung up on me. x

Collections?

1) There is no invoice.
2) I did not place the order.

Hence, I will not be sent to collections for something that I never order nor was billed for.

Thank you,
