Manual credit from netblue since the "new policy?"

I'm guessing manual credit for netblue doesnt exist anymore and that if it doesnt say "in progress" within a few weeks, forget it. I'm currently on week 5 of waiting for manual credit on 3 offers. Is there any tips on what to do next, other than to do more offers (which, after spending over 40 for flowers from ftd, we're getting close to where there's no point). So far, netblue has either ignored my emails or just told me to call next week (heard that 3-4 times now). If I get credit, great, I'll come on and post "netblue is great, blah blah blah," but I dont expect to be writiing anything other than "I called again, they said 'call back next week'".

I currently have two that are pending. I was told to call back in 3 weeks, which would be the middle of this week. I'll give them a call then and hope that it goes through smoothly.

Yeah, they told me to wait longer so I just did another offer that immediately went in progress. The lame thing is that now I have to wait ANOTHER 8 weeks for it to credit.

If you look at the picture on netblue's sites, it says "10 percent off for mothers day" so ftd is claiming that nullifies any credit from netblue. OK FTD, FTD you.

I got manual credit yesterday for the Netflix offer on YourFreeWii. It had been nearly 60 days and still showed In Progress. I called, spoke to a very nice lady who immediately updated my account and said my certificate link would appear within 24 hours. Got home a couple hours later and there it was. Certs printed and mailed. So yeah, that would seem to be manual credit. She didn't even ask for documentation or anything.

My understanding is that while you always have to call after 45 days to get "In Progress" offers to go to "Approved," that's not really considered manual credit, especially since you don't need any documentation.

People are having difficulty getting manual credit for "Pending" offers (the ones that DO always require documentation).

And the beat goes on. I called for the sixth week in a row and am told the exact same thing I've been told the previous 5 times they will resubmit a request and I have to wait for the advertiser to respond and maybe call again next week. 7 weeks so far for a manual credit request. Steer clear of netblue, unless you understand that if it doesn't go to "in progress" you are not getting credit any time soon ... IF at all.

And it doesn't matter what records you have. I have screen captures that have the confirmation page AND netblue's terms in the photograph AND I sent these to myself the day I did the offers in an email, I have email confirmations, I have credit records, netblue recorded the visit ... none of it matters. If the advertiser ignores the request (if this is even what's happening) than that's it. They can ignore it forever.

I don't even know who to write a BBB complaint against, if not both.

Down goes netblue.

I wonder even though they claim to not have heard from the sponsor, has netblue received their money for the refferal...

box86rowh

20-05-2008 15:58:17

It is not netblue...I am sure many no that but it is the advertisers who have asked for this verification. Netblue will not get paid until the offers are verified, so delaying is not in their best interests. But on the flip side, the advertisers have no reason to verify anything. If they just sit on their hands they end up with our business and don't have to pay Netblue at the same time...

Well, after around 95 days, I got manual credit on ONE offer. FTD. Still waiting on 12in1 and fatcow .... and I know one person is waiting on TEN manual credits still. There is no sense in doing more offers when I have no idea if they'll go in progress ... the fight continues.

Hello,

We have received verification from the sponsor for your offer. Your account has been updated to approved; please allow up to 48 hours for this to be reflected in your account. Once your account shows the updated status, please continue with the process of printing your certificates.

I contacted FTD and they replied that since netblue gave me 10% off (its in the ftd picture on netblue's sites) I was ineligible. I've called netblue once a week for the last ... 6/7 weeks. I also sent them an email every other week with my screen captures and confirmation emails. They sent the email yesterday or today, don't recall which ....

One useful bit of information, unless I heard wrong, they told me last time I called that they send out credit request to advertisers on Tuesday.

this doesnt exactly pertain to true "manual" credit...

I just got off the phone doing my normal "its been 45 days in progress and I havent rolled over." She said that its now 51 days from the time you sign up. Not sure if its in the terms but I heard it straight from the source so I figured I'd pass it along.

After more than 100 days, netblue sent me an email claiming I did not sign up through them ....

Here is another link ..

https//odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/NewComplaint.aspx?ComplaintTypeID=2&countryid=1

This link is specific to netblue..
http//sanjose.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=68&bbb=1216&firm=214568

This bbb link seems more in detail, so if I dont get a reply from the other link, I'll send another through that.

Now that I've read further, Im not sure why the la bbb would handle the complaint as Mountain view is in santa clara county. We may need to resubmit our complaint.

Oh my, I am sorry to hear that. I have been following this thread regularly and just like you, I'm in the same boat. It's just that my 45 days will be June 11th. I contacted them once and of course I got their generic replies. This isn't looking good.

They can't just tell you that you didn't sign up mostly when you have all the screen captured records and such. Also you mentioned being credited with other offers. That is totally BS! ? I'd definitely bookmark that bbb link- just in case they pull the same crlip on me.

Are you talking about a specific offer not being credited? Or netblue claimed they have no records of your membership?

Thanks!

ploppsdman

06-06-2008 18:01:58

They are telling me that fatcow is reporting I did not sign up through them. Of course, it only took them somewhere around 107 days to tell me that. And nevermind the screen captures, nevermind the fact I got credit for 3 of the 4 offers, nevermind the visit is recorded on giftfreebies account page along with the other 3 sites I got credit for, nevermind the time on the email I sent to myself w/ the screen captures the day I did the offers is only a bit after I did the offers, nevermind the confirmation email from fatcow ....

Whats happening, I imagine, is this netblue screwed up with their terms of the offer, and so they arent getting credit from fatcow for the screw up ... so ... they in turn lie.

The only problem with that theory is that, since netblues new policy, they arent crediting other offers as well ... they are a mess.

ploppsdman

06-06-2008 18:07:13

The problem I see is .... I've got no real reason to believe a replacement will credit ... and fatcow isnt the only offer I'm waiting on ... I've got another offer as well ... and I know of several others who have the same situation.

Not sure what thread to put this in, but since I am about to go the BBB route, I thought I'd post in here.

I just called Netblue about my $100 from Yourfreeprizes.com and they are claiming that they did not get my paperwork. I have tracking proof, but they refuse to move me off of the disqualified list! They said that the tracking just shows that "something" was delivered to them and they refuse to admit that it was my affidavit etc. I am SO angry right now. I followed everything that I was supposed to do. I have waited my time and these jerks are now just going to say too bad so sad even though they DID receive all of my info!! I told her that I was going to report them to the BBB, but she said she didn't care.

Is there anything else that I can do at this point or am I out the $100?

People like to wield the BBB as a club, but the truth of the matter is most large organizations who do their business primarily via internet could care less about local BBB complaints. The vast majority -- probably on the order of 99% -- of the people who sign up for these sites are not checking BBB for complaints, or they're not giving them much weight when they do. There are a ton of people who are satisfied with Netblue, I-Deal, etc. and post positive testimonials, so without a widespread pattern of fraud, most people are going to be too enamored with the idea of getting a freebie that they'll continue to risk it. Also, a large number of BBB complaints originate from people who were themselves to blame, and are complaining out of retribution.

BBB is most effective at the local brick & mortar level. You can find BBB complaints about most any incentivized marketing site, whether Freepay, Trainn, I-Deal, Netblue, or whomoever, but it doesn't really affect their business -- so why should they care?

Remember that, although without us they wouldn't have a market to advertise to, the simple fact of the matter is WE are not their customers, the advertisers are. Therefore as long as their advertisers are happy with the level of service they're providing (i.e. the leads), then they could really care less about our complaints.

I'm not brandishing the Better Business Bureau as a club nor do I expect a proper resolution, but as I've got a decent amount of evidence in my favor and I see no other course of action, as others are getting the same emails claiming they did not sign up through netblue making a replacement offer an undesirable path, I'm unsure what else I can do. I did the offer, I did it through their site like all of the offers I've been credited, there's no cookie problem, so someone among netblue and fatcow is lying ... and as netblue has credited people for fatcow for their mistake in terms, I'd like them to do the same thing for me, as I followed their terms. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of advice to offer you, other than to suck it up and try again. I think any of us who have been doing this awhile have at least one experience of being wrongfully denied credit or even an entire prize. This business is anything but "fair" all the time, what we do in a lot of ways would be akin to gambling -- sometimes you just have to take a bad beat and move on. There is inherent risk in this venture, as most anyone here can tell you.

Attempting to fight it that far accomplishes little, except perhaps as a salve for our wounded pride. Especially in this industry where (again) we are not their primary customers. We're a means to a customer, but not the customer they're earning billions of dollars from. Especially those of us who are "pro" feebie enthusiasts -- they actually don't WANT us completing their sites. If all 35K registered users of FiPG abandoned the freebie scene today en masse, never completing another offer or site, it wouldn't be a blip on their radar. They're perfectly happy with getting paid for the [bad1edaac2f]millions[/bad1edaac2f] of clueless leads they generate from clicking on MySpace banner ads. Most of those never get far enough to complete and have a prize shipped, unlike us. So any direct threats we can make to them are hollow. The fact of the matter is you have very little to show for "damages" so even if you took them to court, as others have attempted to do with varying degrees of success, the most you could expect to win would be your prize. And possibly not even that. All of their terms basically state in so many words that they don't HAVE to ship you anything.

So the only advice I could offer would be to let it go, decide if you'll ever do another NetBlue site again, and move on to other sites so you can get the freebies rolling in. I'm not saying don't pester them and hope for the best, but don't fool yourself thinking threats will get you anywhere either.

Maybe not what you wanted to hear exactly, but I think it's the truth.

Well, I wrote this today ...

"I had my doubts, but I want to thank the Better Business Bureau for their assistance and I also wish to thank Kathy for her stepping up and abiding by the terms of the offer by giving me credit. Take care."

I have been given credit for fatcow.com. If anyone from netblue is reading this, thank you for crediting the offer ...

On Freegameconsoles.net and Gadgetcity.com I was waiting for credit for Fatcow, StartLogic, Web.com and Driver's Discount club. I didn't expect to get any credit after reading stuff on the forum. I sent in a request via email and provided my confirmation emails and a few weeks later all of the credit showed up and both sites were approved for me Monday!

[quotea4e630558e="ploppsdman"]I'm not brandishing the Better Business Bureau as a club nor do I expect a proper resolution, but as I've got a decent amount of evidence in my favor and I see no other course of action, as others are getting the same emails claiming they did not sign up through netblue making a replacement offer an undesirable path, I'm unsure what else I can do. I did the offer, I did it through their site like all of the offers I've been credited, there's no cookie problem, so someone among netblue and fatcow is lying ... and as netblue has credited people for fatcow for their mistake in terms, I'd like them to do the same thing for me, as I followed their terms. If there are suggestions as to what else I can do, I'm all eyes.[/quotea4e630558e]

Maybe you should pester the advertisers. Let them know you were lead to believe you would receive a gift if you purchased their product. They are the ones who actually have your money. They would probally respond to bbb threats quicker than any of the freebie companies.

Whatever you decide be persistant. I work in customer service and nothing get on my nerves more than a persistant unhappy customer. The squeakiest wheel get the oil.

Wilcrytay, read above ... netblue resolved my claim through the better business bureau and gave me my credit.

I just now recieved credit for an offer on yourfreewii.net.

I did the offer on 3/27, had to fax in two seperate sets of CC statements, was delayed on the manuel credit once, but today I called again (for only the 2nd time), and she said everything was good, and I had a cert. to print within an hour.

Super easy to deal with. I would have liked for it to be done sooner, but they came through in the end and the customer service lady was super nice and helpful. (With that said, this will probably be my first and last yfd site.)

Thanks YFD

from what it seems like, those who have completed only one or two YFD sites will have an easier time receiving manual credits than those who have finished significantly more YFD sites.

Yeah - they have repeatedly told me the same bs - that I did not sign up through their site.... but after sending in THREE months worth of CC statements, multiple times, I am down to waiting on only 3 things - I am done with YF - at least until they change up the page 3 and 4 offers.
