Hi,

I was just wondering if most of these DIY sites are eligible for me. I am a student on visa here so, I'm not a U.S citizen

Would any of these site not reward me because of this?

Thanks

Check their terms and conditions, it may vary from site to site. Certain trial offers might also be limited to US citizens, but probably not many.

I'd say that with most, as long as you have a stable address & phone number, you'd probably be okay for smaller items. For PayPal payouts, you'd have to have a US PayPal account so I don't know if that would be an issue or not. And if you received payouts of $600 or more from any one site/network, you'd have to submit tax info (SS# or TID#) which you probably don't have with a student visa (unless you're allowed to work).

But ultimately, you need to check with each site you're interested in.

DYI sites are worthless. Avoid them at all costs. I did one and man am I sorry!

Don't avoid them. If you do them correctly and know what you're doing then youll be fine. They offer high payouts and are well worth it. Then again, referral site may be easier for you to get started with since you can get paid for offer completions.

Please. You tried one, had a bad experience, and now DIY is worthless?

Tell that to those of us with several thousand dollars worth of stuff from them. I've done far more DIY and received far more from them than from ref sites.

DIY quality and selection is cyclical -- as more people do them, the better ones dry up. As demand drops, the better ones pop up again. This has been the case for the last several years. Thanks largely to the huge organized congas (in the case of I-Deal) and large influx of newbies during the past six months, the DIY market has been in a lull, although recently I see signs of it picking back up.

I dont know what thread crapping is. Im giving my opinion and that other guy insulted me for it. Perhaps thats the problem.

So you got shafted by iDeal. Big whoop. They did that to almost everyone. Most people still got their checks. Did you get yours? Even if you did 20 offers, what gpt/points site would give you 800 bucks for 20 offers? Jeez.

Legally, you aren't allowed to get paid from off-campus work if you are on a student visa, unless you are using your year-long exemptions for practical or curricular training. DIY sites wouldn't qualify for curricular training, and if you are on practical training, there is much better use of your limited time in that program.

I just wanted to say how it is from a legal standpoint. You can, and perhaps should, check with a legal expert/immigration lawyer if you have doubts about that.

Did they disqualify you? You should have been more persistent. My site expired three months ago. I just got the check in the last week.

lol. I love DIY sites. I've done a brandarama one for a $200 gift card, only had to do 2 offers. and I just did one for a $500 gift card and only had to complete 3 offers. The wait sucks, but to say completing these sites are worthless is quite the understatement. Once I receive me $500 gift card in a few months, my profit from DIY sites will be about $675. Not bad for only having to complete 5 offers.

My first experience with I-deal started out crappy, but they ended up sending a $900 check even though I didn't even know if I'd gotten my referrals- after a while they weren't answering my emails so I didn't even know I'd qualified. After I got the check I tried them again, spent about $100 on offers and I wasn't experienced enough to figure out I was doing a bum site, where the links and tracking weren't working at all. At first they asked me to fax in manual proof of offers (I know, weird, huh? this was in August I think) and then after I did I could never get in touch with them again.
For some reason, I didn't learn and did 3 more sites. 2 of them I got DQ'd for for some bogus reason, and one of them I got a $1000 check from.
So, I got $1900 from them in a little over a year and I spent a lot less than that, even when you count the 3 sites that I never got credit for.
I chalked it up to a learning experience, and now I know better about which sites to choose, and to not even mess with I-deal unless you like to gamble.
