Thanks for the reply. And yes i agree with you...Since there is already a very big conga, why not just hop on theirs? Plus the last person won't be totally screwed since there are so many people in the conga already...

To save 10 bucks also the conga at josh clark is pretty long and a lot of newbies there so something is bound to go wrong

Could ANYBODY be nice enough to give me the link to that site (you could PM it to me so it doesn't get out)? I've asked madmanx33 and doesn't seem to be interested in helping me. I don't plan to complete the site right away which is why I haven't offered to be anyone's referral (I'm right in the middle of completing the $1,200 10+1 Visa site and don't want to get in over my head). I have my own "local" conga comprised of friends I know personally and have no interest in this particular conga. However, if I did decide to sign up sooner than I expected, I'll gladly sign up for the first person who gives me the link. Again, the only reason I haven't offered to be anyone's referral is because I don't plan to sign up for maybe another week or so. I will give a week's worth of +KRM to the person who gives me the link first and GUARANTEE that if I sign up soon, I will check with them FIRST to see if they have gotten their ref yet. Thanks.

[quote5df375a83d="doylnea"]why in the hell would anyone signup for a conga at joshclark.com?[/quote5df375a83d]

Don't know if you're being silly or really asking, so at the risk of being mocked, I'll try and answer.

Early in 07 he posted a blog on how to get a Macbook Pro from Nuitech and it exploded through word of mouth and got a whole new set of people into the freebie world including myself.

He's a member of the church where my best friend is a minister and when he vouched for Josh and the site, I jumped in and got a Macbook Pro. Then Nuitech changed everything and Josh had a huge audience and no freebie stuff so he branched out and found other companies and sites and reports on what he finds. His goodwill and karma reserves are huge and so when Josh reports on a site, his readers tend to jump in with both feet.

Now, as I'm typing this, I've realized you maybe just mean, why would you do a conga when all the newbs are there with a huge potential to screw things. If this is what you mean, you're correct, and please ignore the other long winded part of this post. )

At least I-deal has non-referral sites now. A year ago ALL of their sites had a referral. They're still champs in my book ) I'm a little biased though, because I've received a lot from them and haven't had any real problems.

Everyone just has to change their methods as i-deal changes theirs. I-deal is a very generous company, but all businesses have their limits (for example, a 400+ person conga over at josh clark roll -- if everyone received their gifts that would be over $800,000 out of i-deals pocket book). I-deal is a business and they have to change their policies in order to stay alive. Think about it.

mistertomlinson

14-11-2007 14:38:24

OK, so what about a 3 people conga... I and a couple of friends have created our own "conga," if you will. #3 will not be finishing the site, but simply completing his offers... do you think I should worry?

Secondly, I did 10 offers for a $1,200 I Deal site and after 4 days was given credit on the silver and platinum pages. However, the gold page remains uncredited. I've read about the gold page glitch and sent an email. They're response suggested the problem only existed for those that HAD credit for their gold offers at one point and found later them "uncredited" and "pending" again. Does it sound like I am experiencing the glitch or is this just the strangest I Deal crediting cycle?

Thanks.

I really hate Josh Clark he screwed up I-deal for everyone
Its his idiot fault he shold have put a maximum on the number of people that are able to sign up INSTEAD he let 400 people sign up!

Do you guys really blame I-deal? I don't! They can take some small losses (i bet were nothing compared to the money they make) but when you have 400 people joining a conga and they stand to lose 2000 a person what can you do!?

Just in case anyone's curious about the progress of my situation, I Deal is proving to be less than helpful. I explained to them that the site is EXPIRED and that the offer links/referral link are no longer available as a result. One response insisted this was not the case, that the links are simply "down right now" and they will be back up soon. If you visit the site, it clearly says "This offer is no longer available," but they insist the links will be back up soon, but give me no idea of when. This seems like another of their tactics to pocket a little extra cash. I could see them putting me off until my 60 days were up and simply stop responding to me. What sucks is that my referral is green and I only have one offer left to do. My referral on the other hand still needs to refer someone but cannot retrieve his referral link... This is gay!

They replied to my last email with the SAME shit they've been saying. "The links will be back up shortly." What the hell?! The offer is no longer available... I don't understand how they will simply get the links back up... I'm no website designer, but I don't think it takes DAYS to put some links on a damned website; Correct me if I'm wrong. If I keep sending emails, I'm sure they'll eventually stop responding, but if I just sit here, I can almost guarantee my time is going to expire and they will never take care of the situation. heres a random question, how can ideal prove you were in a conga? Its like a random we're denying you because we feel like it.

I'm not encouraging it violating the TOS, but I just can't make sense of it.

I was talking to them about the conga rule and then when I asked for clarification on how they can tell or what their criteria is for saying you are in a conga etc... they never responded to that of course.

I mean of course they can see who is who being referred etc but does like you and 3 friends classify as a conga? Those questions we won't know...

I'm guessing the whole conga line thing is just a scare tactic from i-deal that they made basically because of JC. However, if there's a line of friends and all 10 or however many end up completing the site, they may say its a conga and deny. Its just another out that i-deal is giving themselves

So one more question on this one. I signed up when no referrals were required. Does it matter that the ToS require 2 now? I didn't think that part changed for people who were previously signed up.

It also says that at the bottom of the page. I KNOW I signed up on Oct 19th before it changed. Can anyone help me with the dates it changed?

Check your status. Does your status say you need two referrals? If not, you're good to go.

The mac is no longer an option on this site. It's like what they did on sleeknewlaptops I believe, they took the mac off... people bitched and they put the mac back on
