Is Gadgetcity.com mailing out checks or gifts these days? I am interested in either the XBox (4 offers) or PS3 (5 offers, obviously I need to find out what kind of hard drive it is or if they're sending a check that would make me need a W9).

Thanks!

if the gift is under 600 dollars. then no w9. so both of these items wont require w9

ps3 required w9. you get a 600 dollar check for it.

You probably only get a $500 check now that Sony has cut the price.

Haha, not quite. Very good day actually... I work for the US Dept. of State and have mandatory 6 days a week for all of August...so TODAY, is actually an awesome day.

So with my math if I do 4 offers for the Xbox I'll come out more ahead because I'll get a $400 check, not blow 5 offers, and not have to pay taxes on $600...

My first freebie was from gadgetcity.com (80 GB) iPod and I got the actual gift. Now the past two freebies that I received from YFDirect/NetBlue have been checks. One for Photoshop CS3 ($650) and one for a bicycle ($250 check). The iPod was from eight months ago and the last two were from the past three weeks....so.....take what you want from that.

If the gift shows up that's fine by me. I'm just trying to make sense of it all tax wise.

Legally you should pay taxes on it whether or not you received a 1099 from it... but they track it based on the 1099 you get at the beginning of the year. Draw you own conclusions.

actually you would still come out ahead if you had to pay 25% on 600 buck that would be 450 dollars. 25 or less depoending on your bracket

I completed the PS3 and they sent me a $600 check. I have a question-can I still do the XBOX or no?

Just as long as it is not from gadgetcity.com. You can only receieve one gift pef site from YFDirect. You can go to gadgetoverstock.com and get an xbox 360 elite for six offers. That is the same company.
