I just completed a reward from NuiTech for six offers for a $500 Mastercard which cost me no more than $25 to do. I looked over at EFG and noticed they have the same offers for a $1000 Visa. How are these companies staying in business? This forum alone has probably costed it multiple of thousands lol

They do MASSIVE amounts of advertising (read spam) and get a bunch of people who say "ooh, free laptop!" and sign up, complete a few offers, and completely forget about it. They have just enough hoops they make you jump through, that a lot of casual internet users don't finish the site and receive their gift. The majority of people that start these sites [be323489d9b]don't[/be323489d9b] finish them, and on these people they make 100% profit. That's where they make their money.

People also do the first 2 pages of offers and think "Hey, this is easy!"

Then, they get to the last page and think "FUCK THIS!"

I tried to get my uncle to do a DIY site and he did the same thing.

OOD means offer of doom. It is an offer that is expensive. Im sure these sites make tons of money. If you did not read a forum or get any instruction, do you think you would have finished any of these sites? They also get paid I think for all those pop ups and for clicking anything no those surveys.

Yes, they do get paid for having those things, but not enough to pay for the costs of the gifts.

It pays for the cost of the gift when only 1 out of 1000 people finish the site and qualify for a gift.

With the wave of completions, I'd put it closer to 1 out of every 25-100.

You're not really considering the big picture. I'd be surprised if 1 out of 1000 completed these sites (even with the current wave of DIYers trying these sites). We freesites folks are a small pittance to these companies.

Just my two cents ...

I believe these sites will succeed, but only for a limited time. Here are my thoughts

These sites do e-mail market much more than the referral sites, especially the smaller referral sites. Therefore they

a. Have a larger customer base
b. Have tons of people who start the sites, and never complete

That's why smaller referral sites fail, because "professional" freebie folks are the only ones that complete the site. They don't have a large following of people who really don't understand the process, they just see "FREE COMPUTER" and jump into it.

I think these DIY sites have a large following of people who are new to the freebie scene. It is these people that help the freebie scene succeed. As long as people don't know what they're doing, the DIY sites will keep giving out gifts.

Unfortunately, it is sites like this and others that "Teach" people how the process actually works that kills the business model.

But I think the DIY sites will be around for a while, but I anticipate them "cracking down" very soon (be it by closely monitoring IP addresses, etc).

So, get in early )

It's the same idea as any referral site. They make money from people who don't complete, people who fruad, and people who do more then they have to.

But most people who don't complete won't do all the offers, maybe 1 or 2, therefore they only make the site 1/6 to 1/3 as much money as the completers do, albeit money without the need to payout. Yeah, many will go to the site, but how many will actually give it a shot?

They dont have to give it a shot. They probably sell your info when you sign up. In fact I can prove they do. One diy site asked for a company name so I put S-fried Inc. 2 weeks later I get a letter in the mail for an amex business card for the company "S-fried Inc."

[quotea9ec672446="amir89630"]After searching on about this stuff for a while. I've been wondering what does OOD mean. And.... if on nuitech many of the offers are credited instantly, can you just sign up, and then cancel in about 10 minutes after you have been credited, and avoid any kind of difficulties w/ actually receiving or trying out the product.[/quotea9ec672446]

why does everyone want to get something for nothing? you're getting a great prize worth ten times what you pay, and all you can do is sign up and cancel immediately?

No, don't cancel in 10 minutes, use your brain and stop making bad decisions that will cost us all available offers.

My friend keeps them in business.

He buys those entertainment books and never finishes the site.
