There's a thread for everything else so why not. If you got a free iBook and decided to sell it on ebay, how much did you get for it?

My auction has a little over 4 hours left and its at 800.

EatChex89

24-12-2005 20:00:45

$800 is about all you'll get, because amazon.com had the iBook for $800 shipped...

http//www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009U7WZM/ref=nosim/103-4521774-5789422?n=541966

still going on i believe.

I just put mine up on ebay... so far its its in the $200 range. An ebayer is now offering me $875 if I let him do a buy it now, and if I pay for shipping. Do you think I should do this deal Shaggy???

Shaggy135

24-12-2005 20:07:25

Ya I would take it. Even if shipping is $25 you still make about $850. I would do it. And they have been selling between $700 - 900. So you're in the top of the range. But you could chance it and let the auction go. Its up to you.

tonydanza92

24-12-2005 20:21:27

tell him to just bid on it then

Airkat

24-12-2005 20:22:22

800 plus 60 shipping

Skunk

24-12-2005 20:24:59

Nothing, kept mine )

Shaggy135

24-12-2005 22:19:19

I would have kept mine except I'm a windows person. It is a cool laptop though. Everything I would want in a laptop except maybe add a dvd burner and a different operating system. But thats just me. Once my auction is over I'll probably use my profit to buy another laptop off of ebay.

Airkat

24-12-2005 22:25:38

That's what I did shaggy. Got a 2GHZ 15.4" widescreen Dell

LucaBella

24-12-2005 22:45:31

With shipping

Ibook 1 $997

Ibook 2 $973

Ibook 3 910 (it had been opened)

[quote58ee9952de="Airkat"]That's what I did shaggy. Got a 2GHZ 15.4" widescreen Dell[/quote58ee9952de]

me too! got another 6000D from Dell.

2.0ghz Pentium M
512mb rammy
40gb HD
64mb video card
8x DVD burner
wifi

$787.00 delivered (had to pay tax =()

Update in a fit of cheapness, sold the Dell for 1185.

Shaggy135

24-12-2005 22:52:25

Did you get those Dell's off of ebay or of dell.com?

LucaBella

24-12-2005 22:53:31

dell.com

ordered from the EPP site when they had the stackable coupons....

damned hot deal.

Shaggy135

24-12-2005 22:58:40

Whats the EPP site?

nistlerooy

24-12-2005 23:22:28

I went ahead and took the deal for $875, I got payed right away. After ebay fee's and shipping I'll have about $820 profit... D I'm really really glad I did this site, Thanks Junior!!!

LucaBella

24-12-2005 23:27:08

Dell's EPP site is the employee purchase plan. Basically if your company has the deal with dell, everyone at the company gets a special code to use to qualify for discounts. usually they suck, but if you get some stackable coupons, you're laughing, mate.

Shaggy135

24-12-2005 23:55:57

Oh ok.

Shaggy135

25-12-2005 00:27:13

Well my auction ended at $800. Still not bad for something that didn't really cost me anything. And I did open it and play around with the OS. So $800 for an open box practicaly new iBook that cost me almost nothing. Next on my to do list Free IBM laptop. ;-) I might keep that one though.

2 questions

1. Are you an aussie? I dunno why i just picture this right now

2. Is there any way to get an EPP account other than what you've mentioned

JUNIOR6886

25-12-2005 04:22:53

I sold my Ibook for $970 (jealous of Lucabella selling hers for $997 http//forum.freeipodguide.com/smilies_mod/upload/564a4257ffe04389be37cf83fbbd4069.gif[" alt=""/imgd05c86805f] ) I had to use a mac in my software applications class and it was just about my worst computer experience ever. lol

aussie? Lucabella's too gnangsta' to be aussie shock

Shaggy135

25-12-2005 04:31:55

The IBM is at 6 offers. Well atleast it was the last time that I checked. I have no clue what the specs are though. But hey its practically free.

haha, I'm gangsta, lol. Junior you rock.

the reason you get the aussie vibe is the use of "mate" at the end of a british phrase "you're laughing" so.. hehe. I'm all multicultural.

Anyway, you can just search online for someone's EPP number and claim you work for the company, they don't check.. but it's sorta kinda wrong, hehe.

cheers!

well mine sold for $780 -- but the guy backed out and I traded them for 4 ipod nanos at the apple store -- I sold each nano for 328.99 -- then took the $$ to the ipod store -- and purchased another 10 using my tax cert (so I did not pay tax) and resold them for $299 each.

profit about $1500 when done ...

Kidd

25-12-2005 17:54:02

how did u get a tax cert

JUNIOR6886

25-12-2005 17:55:18

the only reason your nanos sold for 329 was because of the holiday rush
you should have kept the profit and quit right then and there. With the holiday season over its going to be difficult to sell the nanos for more than msrp......

I am pretty torn on what to do here. I have this iBook sitting here, I am thinking about trying to go return it compusa tomorrow, I read that they take stuff without a receipt if its not opened. But I really want this sony HDTV and they dont have it there. I already tried the Apple store they said they wont take it without a receipt. Ebay is looking like maybe my only option, but it looks like they are going for about 800 right now, when its possible to get like 1000 giftcard somewhere. Anyone got any advice for any retail stores that might take it, that also have TV's?

cartrenroy

25-12-2005 18:21:12

I'll give you an Xbox 360 (the big package) and I'll pay for shipping (both items)

what do you think?

CompUSA will not take it back -- they only accept returns within 15 days and with a receipt. A high ticket item like that is hard to get credit on. It took me 3 apple stores before I got my swap ...

Your gonna have to ebay it ...

Well after my paypal fees I ended up with about $817 for my ibook. And after looking on BestBuy.com and seeing their $300 off notebooks sale, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite notebook with a 1.6Ghz prossessor, 80G HD, 512MB DDR SDRAM, a Dual layer DVD burner, and internal wireless, all for about $813. So I think I ended up ok.

I got $900 for mine. eBay people will buy things for more than they are selling sometimes. Most of the time they aren't very good at searching for the best deal, they assume eBay is the best deal...
