I'm just wondering about the future for companies like Gratis and Offer Centric, not to mention all of the smaller ones.
I mean, I know there are many people willing to give these offers a chance. BUT, there are many who will decide not to continue a service for whatever reason. Are advertisers gaining enough regular customers to afford paying Gratis and other companies, I wonder?
It's awfully helpful to a poor college student. I spent my last semester in Los Angeles (great f'ing time) but spent all my money. When I got back to NY, I was BROKE. eventually i got a job but what held me over was the $300 i got from selling my iPod Gratis sent me on eBay. I only worked for a month and a half til I had to go back to college.. I got no car, no job.. but I've made almost $800 more off of these sites, more than enough for the semester. I just wish I could live this way for the next few years in college. Haha....

No, I'm not talking about college expenses themselves. I just mean for money to pay my phone bill, for food for my dorm room, rides home, other random expenses. (I'm on a meal plan) My parents pay for school.. well, i take out a small loan. I'm just talking spending money though.

Gratis and OC will be here for a while; gradually the smaller sites will fade away without much capital, etc...

Comapnies spend millions of dollars on TV, Newspaper advertising. Look at blockbuster online thingie - how many customers have they stolen from Netflix or have prevented from going to Netfix.
I'm sure spending 10-12 million dollars to kill Netflix is acceptable for as large a company as Blockbuster.
On the other hand, Gratis is raking millions of dollars in profts. I'm sure we'll see more and more free sites and more adveritisers and offers. There are a ridiculous amounts of these blockbuster type and those semi-shady types of offers all over.

Is it really the end of the world if a thread similiar to a previous thread is created? Sorry I just don't understand these super strict rules.. it's a message board..

Those other threads were pointless. Its not like you own the rights to all threads about how long this will last. You shouldnt get angry cause somebody else made a similar thread, especially when this one is better than yours. lol
