4FREESPOT.COM SCREWED ME

When 4freespot.com first started up, they had an offer for dot5hosting and the requirements clearly stated that all that was needed to get credit was to complete an online purchase through the websites shopping cart.

I followed those requirements. I purchased a domain name for 5.95 and did it through their online shopping cart. But now i was browsing the 4freespot forums and apparently they are saying that credit will not be given to me or any of the others who did the same thing.

Has anybody on here had this happen??? It is not my fault that they worded their requirements wrong. By the way it has since been changed. They couldnt have had too many people do this and should still give credit to those who did.

Now I am out 5.95 and the guy i signed up for can't get the green from me.

Some people on the other forums are talking about contacting the BBB and reporting false advertising.

i am in the same boat, and I am going to fight them. They falsly advertised to use, and it screwed us over. I have been posting to that thread. I do have a PDF of the page (gotta love OS X) that I made just before accepting the offer. My domain is registerred, and I am pissed.

If we keep complaining, they will have to give in. Its bad for their site, and people will not join. They will be making a ton of cash off that site, so giving a few credits away isnt that big of a loss.

We cannot let this site get away from changing the offer after people have completed it! If they do it, what keeps other sites from doing it? We are making them the money. They get paid very nicely for the offers, especially hosting offers. Commision Junction pays as much as 100 per hosting signup!!! Please help us out and let them know what you think. Umm, Although they changed the rules of the offer in order to get credit, I don't think they get paid if you do the offer incorrectly (even though they did not specificy an exact way of doing it).

I put $1 into keen at 4freespot for thehrn but I haven't gotten credit. I would do the sports one but it was cancelled

The offer before and after

We did the offer EXACTLY like they stated to do it. Credit is based on you doing the offer like they tell you. We technically have now knowledge about the deal they have with their partners.

Somebody on the other forums is putting together a list of people who have been affected by this problem and i beleive they are preparing to email the BBB with the details. I dont know if anything will actually get done, but we have to at least try. We did nothing wrong so we should not have to pay for their mistake.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate!!!!! gears4free, 4freespot, etc. The guy who runs them is a joke, and their free sites are a joke. Why people continue to persue any referrals with these folks is beyond me. I don't know anyone personally who has ever gotten credit for anything, and if you look at the forums, it's been well over a month since anyone has received anything from them.

How long ago did you sign up for that? I committed to sign up for 4freespot, so I want to see if that's a good offer to do. Been trying to do a little research into the 4freespot offers, but I haven't seen much for them. Otherwise I'll probably go with TradebetX, unless that Sports one reappears.

Apparently, Keen is one of the big ones that people don't get credit for. One of my guys did it three weeks ago.

Ouch, so noted. TradebetX it is, then. Rather pricey, but I hopefully should be able to get money back later. Plus I might even be able to make a few bucks on the site. I still am kinda paranoid about it, though.

I don't know if its worth your time doing any offer on 4freespot. If you check out the get4friends thread, everyone pretty much says the whole network is a scam. I only put $1 in because I didn't want to drop $50 for no reason. Ill probably have to contact thehrn and do another site for him. I've only been signed up for 4 business days for keen, but I'm not crossing my fingers

This is exactly what happened to me ith Get4Friends. The sites advertise their offers wrong, and expect us to take the heat for it. I could give a flying fuck that they don't get paid...they should have all these details worked out with the advertisers long before they post them on their site.

I've visited a lot of other boards, and this board is by far the one that complains the most. Other boards understand why sites have to revoke or not give credits, but all of you.. just love to.. complain? I get that you guys did your offers, but unfortunately that's not all there is to it sometimes. Sometimes CJ or CJ-like sites don't mention what the exact requirements are to get paid, which leaves a buncha site owners in the dark.

Of course if I did it I guess I'd be annoyed too. Annoyed, not ROAR MUST SMASH THINGS pissed.

Also for the Keen offer - make sure you use the free trial up, as in actually call them, THEN deposit money.

Funny how you are able to make that general statement about these forums on your very first post. You couldn't possibly have joined with the exact intent of trying to make those owners sound better could you? I mean cause all the newbs first posts are about this wink

Anyways my family has owned and operated a chain of stores since before I was born (started in 1979) And I know that if we ever told our customers something we would never go back on it even if we lost money, which we have. I'm not sure if this is a federal law or a state law but I know that if we miss mark the price the price on something and a customer wants to buy thats the price according to the law that we have to sell them that item for that price. Now obviously if we didnt want to follow that law we could say hey thats not the price on that it really costs this much and chances are we wouldnt get sued and nothing would ever come of it. But our stores have a reputation of putting the customer first and thats how we have made it for so long. What these sites are doing is just plain wrong their customers shouldn't pay for their mistakes. If the owners didn't know the terms of their offers then no offense but their morons, and the customers shouldn't be affected for their stupidity. It wasn't the customer who wrote the terms on these sites and it wasn't the advertisers it was the owners. I wonder how you would react if you went to a restaurant and ordered a steak dinner only to find out it cost you twice as much as it stated on the menu because the distributor bought alot higher quality meat then planned, but thats not the restaurants fault because they didn't know so you should have to pay right?

By the way none of these sites affected me nor did I have anything to do with them in any way so I am unbiased

Interesting indeed. I doubt if they werent going to give credits for the offer that they would care what the BBB has to say...most companies dont care about the BBB and most consumers dont research as well.

The BBB won't do anything about such a complaint, I can tell you that right now. But I think you guys should give the network a chance. I have seen how they work and I have only good things to say and good experiences to talk about, but to each his own I suppose.

How do you think Amazon is rated so high among all online sellers? their CUSTOMER service is the best CS I've ever seen on any other site. they might lose money on something but they'll gain in on the 1000% of new user flow and return users (like me).

Have you tried this (or know someone who did) and got credit? (I know that sounds like a question where I'm supposing the answer and am being condesending, but I really just want to know.) I haven't actually gone to the site and done an offer on 4freespot yet, so I want to see if people actually get credit while being sure to do it this way.
