So hey guys whats been going on? I haven't visited this forum in a little while so I decided to open this topic. Anyways, I'm going to be attending BGSU this fall to become a VCT major. Everyone got their roommate info and which dorm they will be staying in last Thursday the 2nd. Well I emailed him and did not get a response, so I messaged his myspace. He told me he was going to be returning for his second year as a sophomore.

Now my question is if its usual for freshman to get paired with sophomores? Or is this a fluke or something? I mean I don't really care but I kinda wanted to room with a freshman. If anybody has any input lemme know.

I lived with a sophomore my freshman year, there were a few other sophomores on my floor as well.

It tends to happen in big schools, but it is a bit odd to be having a sophomore as a roommate. Usually they just live on your floor or in the dorm, maybe even in the suite.

uUll get to know everyone on your floor regardless, and im sure the majority will be freshmen. So I wouldn't worry about it. Plus having a sophomore as a roommate could be pretty useful, just think of it in a positive way I guess.

Okay. But really the thing that bugs me is that the guy doesn't even respond back to my emails, even when I can see that he has received them. I mean I don't know I guess I was kinda excited to find out who my roomate was... but now it's just a disappointment. Idk he must be afraid of emails. Maybe I'm just stressing over it a bit too much but it makes me a little pissed.

Maybe he really just doesn't care that much about who he's living with, and figures he will figure it out in the fall. shrug I think I'd probably be the same way.

I hate this shit. This is the hallmark of an inconsiderate fuck who is bound to never achieve success in his life. You get an email, it takes 2 minutes to respond.

I'm not saying this is indicative of what type of person this guy is, but don't be surprised if he's an apathetic fuck who just happens to live with you for a semester. Call his phone if you got it.

There might be a bunch of other stuff going on in his life right now, or maybe English isn't his first language or he's really shy or something. You haven't even met him yet, so try to give him the benefit of the doubt. No reason to taint your relationship with someone you're going to have to live with before you even get to know him.

He may have received your emails but how do you know he read them..or has even checked his email in a while?

I never respond to emails and I'm not an inconsiderate fuck.

Yes, yes you are. And now you know.

But anyways! I found his Facebook and got his cell number and we've been talking for a little bit. I suppose he just doesn't like talking when not in person? Idk.

Then why bother with an email address or letting people have your email address. It takes 2 seconds to write something back.

when I was in college, I live in a suite all my years so you have diversity. I had some cool suite mates and just some damn ones I couldn't stand. It's life. got a single my 3rd year and then lived off campus my 4th though.

I had 2 roommates and 2 suitemates. All 4 were random, and all of them chose to do random as well. Worked out amazing. Both my roommates were awesome dudes and we hung out a lot even though we joined different houses. My suitemates were cool too, we all got along great. One of my suitemates was kind of a douchebag but he was still alright to live with. Our rooms were connected by the bathroom which all 5 of us shared. We always just left both the doors open and just used it as a huge room all the time. Shit was cash.
