Well I just got a PS3 because my brother moved back in with World Tour and we needed a console.... Wondering what everyone with a PS3 does? What are some good games, hacks, fun random things to do?

Also, I have that, and a 61" TV all plugged into essentially an extension cord... bad news?

I use my PC as a media server and watch DVDs & TiVo'd shows from my PC > PS3

I use my ps3 only for blu-ray movies, run it at 1080p sweetness ;)

Go to the PlayStation Store and check out what it has to offer.

i have a 360, ps3 and wii. I only play cod on the 360, only watch blu-rays on the ps3 and only really play the wii when i have friends over.... but i like the 360 for gaming the best

Man, I've had my PS3 for about a year and a half and I didn't realize until today that I could use it to play videos and music from my PC. w00t for my new media server, now I don't have to convert stuff onto my iPod or use my iPod dock anymore.

Just found this list of "Worthwhile PlayStation 3 Exclusives"

http//anchan.an.ohost.de/goodps3exclusives.jpg

I have 8 games that are on that list and all of them are fun except for the PSN game "Pain".

Believe it or not it was my first choice, but since I already had access to GH World Tour, and wanted to experience 1080p, i figured the jump in price was worth it.... plus I'm not too hardcore, at all, into gaming so the only games besides GH I might play is some Tiger Woods or CoD

are you using tversity?

i have it on both my laptop and desktop, my only (minor) complaint is i can't have both running at the same time.

Personally since getting a PS3 it's the only console I power up at all. The 360 and Wii are just gathering dust. If it weren't for the kids who like to play 360 and Wii once in awhile, plus the fact that I'm a hopeless geek who must have one of just about everything, I'd sell them both. PS3 blows them away for the things I like to play and do.

Aside from preferring the PS3 for games, it's a helluva Blu-Ray player and streaming media client. I have MediaTomb running on my Linux NAS that serves about 300 DVD rips. It's awesome. If Netflix/Sony would just get off their butt and add streaming to the PS3, I could move the Roku box upstairs to the bedroom.

I'm using SimpleCenter, seems to work fine without me having to mess around with it.

Yeah, I'm a PS3 newbie. I used to be into video games more (but on my PC) but not so much now. I would never have actually bought any of these consoles (Wii, PS3, XBOX Elite) but since they were free...

I didn't even have the PS3 hooked up to the internet till yesterday. I had tried once before and couldn't get it to connect so I didn't bother cuz I didn't really care. But once I upgraded my router's firmware it seemed to work much better.

I pretty much just use the PS3 as a DVD/Blu-Ray. We only have two games and I've only played one of them (The Darkness - silly but fun).

Some videos I've noticed have streaming issues with those clients. If I want to watch a video on my 360 I usually just put a thumb drive or external hard drive in the USB slot and play it like that.

If you want to stream Netflix to your ps3 try PlayOn. http//www.themediamall.com/playon

It cost 40$ but it can stream Hulu, Netflix, ESPN, and other sites to your ps3. I tried the free trial last year and thought it was nice but since I do not have Netflix I did not bother keeping it.

Yeah, I'm well aware of PlayOn, but unfortunately it's Windows only. My NAS/DNLP server is running Linux. I don't run any Windows servers, and don't care to stream from my desktop/gaming box or laptops. If they had a Linux version though I would be all over it for $40.
