I have the chance for some of my pictures to be featured in a book that's currently in production. It's by a local organisation featuring "the best" of local pictures and the ones with the highest number of votes at the end (currently 3 months away) will win prizes and be featured in the book.

I'd really appreciate it if you'd take a few minutes to register and vote on my pictures if you like them (if you don't, give them a bad vote). My gallery is here http//www.captureyork.com/people/theysayjump

They're pretty bland at the moment but I plan to upload more soon.

The train with the "Mandy is my world" written on it is so great... Mr. Miagi the cat was beautiful, and I loved the graveyard snow pic!

I like the graveyard shot. The perspective is really wicked with the snow tracks going toward the horizon. Makes the title really fit.

Nice use of the the Rule of Third on all of these.

On my account when I look at each of the pictures it shows me how many votes they've had. Currently my picture with the most votes is this one, with 36 http//www.captureyork.com/photo/219380 after that it's the daisy and then the train.

HELL YES! They actually air that show where you're from, right? I'm a bit of a poser as I've only seen a couple of clips on YouTube and fuckin' loved it. I actually considered downloading the torrents of a few shows, but got lazy and never did... my fuzzy little man-peach.

Yeah it's really good, but watching a full episode is even crazier than just the clips. They have three seasons and they're all really good, mother-licker.

Well it now has one day left in "vote" week. They closed it to new submissions a week ago and gave everyone a chance (vote week) to get caught with voting on all of the pics, which ends either Saturday (tomorrow) or the Sunday. So there still another 24 hours or so to get your last votes in. ;)

Then when that's done they'll start handing out the prizes that they claim will take a few weeks to get a hold of everyone, so I may not actually know if I won anything for another little while.

I think I have a good chance of having a few of my pics in the book, but no so sure about winning prizes as there are not only some much better photography than mine on there, but some of thew prizes also come down to the number of votes nd "loves" you got, which I didn't get as much as some people on there.

Anyway, if you allegedly voted then I'll buy you a pint if it does help. D

I won. The Grand Prize. D

Some people have their copies of the book (I never had money for one) and one of the contributors wrote to me congratulating me, even though I wasn't aware I had one. She said that at the back of the book it lists all of the winners and I got the Grand Prize ($600 Amazon GC) as well as several other full page featured pictures.

I'm completely surprised and shocked.

The book arrived and I ended up having 19 photos featured in it, which I think was more than anyone else. It's weird seeing your photos in a published book.
