Since I know there are a lot of medical experts here at FIPG, I figured this would be the best place to turn. Who here has had mono and what was your experience? How long did you have it? Newly diagnosed member here, ready to join the club and enjoy the ride.

The first symptom is a flap of skin on your tongue

Had it. Slept all day for 3 days. Didn't feel bad, just always tired.

I had it in HS for 3 weeks, it was like strep x10. I thought I was gonna die, I couldn't eat anything cause my throat was too sore and I lost about 17lbs. Hope you have a better experience than I did...

I got it in high school. My back and throat hurt a bunch and I was pretty tired for a month or two, but it gradually got better. The worst part was getting blood taken every week to check my progress.

I've never had it. I can't even remember the last time I was really sick. Yay4immunity! Hang in there Jkirk. It can't last forever.

I've never had it but in college it was very popular... I knew a bunch of kids who almost died from it.

I hate needles, I seriously might have some kind of official phobia. I hope they don't make me do that here. shock

I had it for about 3 weeks when I was 17. I had a sore throat and cotten mouth and felt tired all the time. I also had an on going headache and fever.

It wasn't [i1b03c26b9c]horrible[/i1b03c26b9c] but still not fun at all. Good way to loose weight I guess?

Actually, I think that is the reason, I really have no idea though. A friend of mine that lives next door also got it, and I associate with him on a daily basis, no homo. A girl thought she had it that I have been "talking" to, but she said she only felt bad for a day so I'm not sure how reliable that is. The third possibility was that I drank out of a couple different cups at a party.
