So my friend let me use his ipod touch for an hour or so and as amazed as I was at it, I had such a hard time using the damned thing

Whenever i was typing the web address to a site, i kept pressing the letters on the left and right of it. What the hELLLLLLL! anyone else struggle like me? do you acquire precision or something? sheesh

PS i don't have fat fingers

I found you can hold down the press and let go on whatever letter you want, if you want extra precision.

When I fucked around with it at the store I had the same problem.

Yes, I had the same problem when I used my cousin's iphone.

I would assume with some practice you'll get the hang of it.

I did the same thing when I got my iPhone but now I can type pretty quickly. Not quite as fast as on a regular keyboard, but not too much slower.

my friend jacob types like he's on speed.

it's crazy to watch his fingers fly, making music with the silent keyboard.

I sometimes have trouble with web addresses and simply try not to type as fast as I'm accustomed to on my iPhone (you do get better with it in time). Typing in Notes.app or texting/IM'ing, however, is pie with the autocorrect. I took an iPhone typing test online and managed to type 55 WPM... of course, if it wasn't for the autocorrect, it would have been riddled with errors. I've learned to more or less ignore the mistakes I've made as I type and trust the autocorrect will catch them and it almost always does.
