If you want to call the people in the military pussies, then I guess, but its milsim (which stands for military simulation) guns are built to be as realistic as possible... If you get hit by one, it can actually be pretty damn painful just to let ya know... If anyone knows what airsoft is, and has a g&g, ca, tm ics, or any other very high end branded guns, please post below. )

Let me guess, you sat in your back yard with your friends and shot each other with spring guns>??? Thats what everyone thinks airsoft is. If you put the time and money into it, you can get guns like mine and start playing for real. I went to acqb yesterday, and their were people anywhere from 14- 40 years old, there was an ex-marine, and a a few current marines there. Soo fun...

Airsoft bullets do not hurt. Paintball hurts much worse.

I think you're trying to hard to think it's something more than it is.

It's adults and/or teenagers acting like kids, playing with fake guns. Have fun with it if you want, but don't try and make it sound hardcore or compare it to real military training.

That'd probably be less painful considering the shock and adrenaline.

I think you are the one that turned this into the thread about how it is fake military. He was just talking about it as if it was just some hobby of his and you turned it into a "so it's millitary for pussies" thread...

I was poking a little fun since I prefer real guns, but I don't begrudge anyone their hobby. Unless it involves farm animals and water-based lubricants. Which is why I'm no longer speaking to Frank.

I dunno whats so wrong with it? I am 24 and still play airsoft alot. Its kind of like paintball without the paint. there was a point this summer were i was airsofting almost every weekend. we would go all out, 2 main guns and 2 sidearms. fun times.

I agree, if I were into such things, I think I'd rather do airsoft than paintball. Cheaper and less messy.

Speaking of, I thought it was a law although it may vary by state aren't the muzzles supposed to be painted bright orange on those airsoft weapons?

I had heard something similar to that just for toy guns in general.

Looking into it i found this

"Toy guns didn't become a target of federal lawmakers until the late 1980s, when the Federal Imitation Gun Law was passed, requiring manufacturers to modify their toy guns to make them appear less realistic. In October 1992, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued regulations governing the "Marking of Toy Look-Alike and Imitation Firearms." Under the new specifications, toy guns were required to bear a solid, "blaze-orange" plug at the tip of their barrel, or be colored entirely white, bright red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink or purple. "

from http//www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/01/08/ctv.toy.guns/

Does anyone know the specific law on this?

ajasax

22-09-2008 09:55:44

We must have that law here since the airsoft guns in the stores have the orange tip.

I bought a C02-powered one to shoot pigeons on the top of my house -D

dmorris68

22-09-2008 13:21:02

I would think airsoft would qualify as "toy" in the sense of that legislation, the whole point of which was to clearly distinguish replica from real firearms at a glance. Since airsoft weapons go to great lengths to appear realistic, I would assume the law would apply even more so to them.

I know that in Michigan all toy weapons (which includes airsoft), must have an orange muzzle.

All guns are shipped with an orange tip, but most people paintiver it. It makes it look kinda gay. Mine has a little orange in that pic. 5000 nbd= $15

2000 painttballs = $40/50 I'll stik with airsoft, LOL. Guns can be expensive though, I upgraded mine once to the extreme and it all together ran me about $900
