Uhhh....your iPod charges through the charger. Plug in the cable coming from the USB port of your computer, not the one coming from the wall ;)

Unplug the cable from the iPod, and the back of the computer. Reboot the iPod, and the computer. Then reconnect and you should be good to go.

Sometimes you have to wait a while for iTunes to receive the signal from you iPod. Just keep it plugged in and make sure the Unplug Eject Hardware sign shows up in your program manager. Also try plugging in your iPod when iTunes is closed because sometimes my iPod doesn't show up in my iTunes when it is already open. Switching to manuel transfer shouldn't affect your iPod from showing up on your computer.

I had a similar problem when I first got my iPod. Call their tech support and they will walk you through a reset process for the iPod. Keep in mind that you are only entitled to one (1) free call to tech support.

Thanks, I will try this, I was so taken aback when it happened. What was your situation??? For me, I plugged it in (for about the 10th time) and it autosynced, then I switched to manual transfer (cause I heard this was better), and unplugged it. I went to plug it in an hour later and it didnt work. I plugged the usb in, and the ipod is connected cause it is charging through the usb, but itunes didnt recognize the ipod??? My question is, is it the ipod that is messed up, itunes, or the usb cord??? Thanks so much. Once i get this answer I will call tech. Should I try reinstalling itunes???
Thanks Again!

Hey,
I figured it out. I had it unplugged, and I reset it. Then I plugged it in, and it worked like perfect!!!!! Maybe you just have to reset after switching from auto to manual??? And by the way, do you auto sync, or manual, which one os better??
