I come home and she's all excited to see me, jumping up and down, kissing me, wagging her tail furiously, etc, etc, a half hour goes by, she totally calms down, couldn't care less that I'm home, I leave again for literally 5 minutes, come back in and she's doing the happy dance all over again.

What?

Do dogs have zero sense of time or something? Her reaction after a five minute absence was literally the same as coming home after not seeing her for 12 hours. What's the deal?

she doesn't like you gone.
and she shows that every time you come back in by jumping up and down.

basically trying to communicate to you that you need to stop going away.

i'm the dog whisperer.

Same with my lion. I leave the house to get groceries and when I get back she's all up in my face like "rawr!" and "grahrrrr!"

well, no. it's mostly for attention. if you like it, then encourage it and pet her when she does it. if you don't then follow those yahoo answers things.

Personally, when my dog used to do that it annoyed the shit out of me.

I love Puggles ) I had a pug for a while. It sucks, we are like cursed when it comes to dogs. My first dog like 6 years ago live a couple months only because it had some bad disease that caused blood clots and it made it throw up blood (. My second dog, a pug, was outside and the poor dog had a heart attack. I only had him for 2 years. So, now my family loves dogs, but we are afraid to get one again. We don't want anything to happen.

his face almost looks a little rottweiler-esque. how big is he supposed to get??

PB man, that's a tough break with the puppies. Wow. It's rough watching your dog suffer like that. But hey, don't let that stop you. A curse on your family that damns dogs to early death is pretty much not a likely scenario D

I hate my wife's dog. I have to fight myself not to strangle it while she is not around. I had the best dog growing up. he was a spaniel. His name was Casey. I found him dead on the floor one morning after i got out of the shower. We had some skids doing work on the house and they had a shitty old truck that was leaking crap everywhere on the driveway. I determined that some of it was rad coolant and they didn't tell us. I assume that Casey licked some up. Sounds gay but he was pretty much my best friend. It's been 5 years and I still think about him. ( RIP Casey

hehehhehe

16-07-2008 18:18:59

Yes, they are a cross of those two breeds. I'm guessing puggles don't get that problem where they have more trouble breathing as they get older like some pugs?

I like the first pic because he has that big ole grin. You should submit it to puggle.org.

Dogs do have a strange sense of time. That's why if you try to scold them for something they did minutes ago, they won't know wtf you're talking about.

EDIT spaniels are awesome, I had two growing up. The first one died a horrible death when I was six though...

Do you whisper a sweet goodnight to him before you turn the lights out?

My first and only dog was actually given away to the pound by my dad because he got fed up with her digging (not on digg.com) and then the last straw was when she jumped up and grabbed his favourite piece of meat off the grill.

I still wonder if a kind family ever picked her up.

We used to have a Yorkshire Terrier that we'd had for close to 6 years. My parents gave her to a nice family because I'm in college, 3 hours from home, my dad works all the time, and my sister is a senior in high school who is taking college classes and working, so people are rarely home to let the dog out and take care of her. Plus, they are going to a lot of IU and Colts football games in the fall, and Cabo for a week (they won a trip), so they just decided to give her away instead of always having to find someone to come let her outside and all that.

And that's my summer so far.

The beagle part of the breed gives them a longer snout, and eliminates the pug breathing problems.

Just posted 3 pics of Rufus at Puggle.org. Vote for him!
