Beer of the Month clubs

Anyone have any experience with Beer of the Month clubs? If so, do you have any recommended companies, or companies to stay away from?

Not only beer... There are clubs for Cigar of the Month, Wine of the Month, and even Pizza of the Month.

I tried their Beer of the Month club for a couple of months. There were some pretty good brews in the lot from the two packages I received, but it wasn't worth the $30 for a twelve-pack of mixed beers.

hmm yeah if it was $20 i might consider doing it...

I saw this video of a judge at the High Times Amsterdam Contest or something. The judges get TONS of samples and they have to go through all of them and test them out. lol

The worst part about these clubs is that you're getting some good microbrewed brews, but they're in a bottle...all pasturized and whatnot.

These types of beer need to be enjoyed on draught. I find it more enjoyable (and cheaper) to go and just hop to some of the local microbreweries (I'm in a rural region, and YES it's a drive to the nearby cities, but it's worth it if you grab some friends).

Then, if I like a flavor (usually after a free tasting!)...I'll go and buy a growler of draught...but yeah...I have to drink it in a week or it'll go bad.

I think I saw on digg a while ago that some lady's job is to literally fly around to different countries and test out all kinds of marijuana. I think she was in High Times... not sure if she worked for them, although that would make sense.
