Upcoming 4th of July, any Pyros?

Hey Everyone,

So my favorite holiday is approaching and it always gets me extremely excited. I love the 4th of july, what other holiday lets you blow stuff up in celebration?...anyway, i am in North Dakota so we have very little regulations on what we can buy, build or even wehn and where. My hometown lets you light of fireworks year round and this includes almost anything up to the big ones in the sky (mind you not the MASSIVE ones you need a permit for) but ya.

anyway, i also tend to build my own, this year i am working on making a big rocket (as opposed to my normal cherry bombs and stuff) i was just wondering if any one else does this? any good stories or discussions that may come up from this fun past time.

This is the first year im not buying fireworks. Last year i spent $200 on misc fireworks and it only lasted like 1 1/2 hours, and when i was done i was like "i could of done so much cool stuff with $200". So this year im going to GI Joes and buy tons of black powder and get my head rocked with explosions. Since i live in Oregon our fireworks blow complete goat ass. Not a single fireworks can exceed a 6 foot height. So that means no motors,roman candles, saturn missiles, and all the good stuff. So we just resort to pipe bombs and huge smoke grenades.

we can have all the big stuff, but i still think its more fun to build my own,,,,,i am excited about my rocketD

When I was 12, we had fireworks for July 1st (Canada Day) in my backyard. The next day I was cutting the grass and unknowingly I ran over a metal wire that was used to supprot the firworks at the right angle. The wire shot out from under the lawnmower and went through my ankle poking out the other side. It was stuck in the bone. I had surgery to remove it...

My roommate loves fireworks. His birthday is also the 5th so he gets double the fun lilolli.

I've never been into fireworks on the 4th...not lighting them myself. I would go to Ocean City, MD for my fireworks. Professional show.

In clark county (Las Vegas) its only the "Safe & Sane" bullshit, but you can drive about 30 minutes to the Moapa Indian reservation where you can get all of the good stuff, but at a ridiculously high price ($20/bottle rockets, $15/roman candles)

Pahrump is about an hour away, but by far the best place in Nevada and probably all of the West Coast. I think there is 8 year round fireworks show rooms and many tents. Pretty much every brand and every style at about 80% less cost than Moapa. Fireworks and Prostitution are big business out there.

You can't buy roman candles, bottle rockets, or very many decent firecrackers here in WV. (I think there's some kind of restriction even on those) (

My town is dry as fuck, so we probably are only allowed sparklers. I know a lot of people that drive out to the indian reservations (surrounded by them) to buy stuff. I've never bought from them, so not sure about the prices. It's kind of expensive for just a few hours' fun shrug

we have the safe&sane here as well. which i still like and will buy about $80 worth.

Also, the local high school here throws a nice big show so we will watch that too.

Right now I'm at home studying, but I will be attending a barbecue later this evening. My family and I may go downtown and watch the fireworks tonight also.

going to the beach to jetski and watch Cedar Point's fireworks soon.


Private beach, fire, lots of beer = good time. )

I guess it depends, because the family friends coming over is one of my best friends, but he is coming with his girlfriend, and I doubt he will want to get shitfaced in front of her, though she does like to drink too. Fuck. Expect me in durnk posting later.
