I'm not sure how many FiPG members go to concerts regularly, but summer time is kind of "concert season". So far I am going too,

-Pretty much exactly like Soical D, amazing.
[bca515cacd5]7/3
Rancid with The Aquabats and Urchin[/bca515cacd5]
-Great show, Tim Armstrong seemed alittle lazy, but they played for almost two hours which was cool.
[bca515cacd5]7/4
x107.5 "Rock The Block"

7/26
No Fear Tour featuring

Do you guys wear ear plugs when you go? Last time I brought them but I didn't use them because I felt weird when I didn't see anyone else using them. But now I realized what a tard I was and it doesn't matter what other people think (to an extent).

I did at the Tool concert last summer. It was dark anyway, and my dad and I were on the floor and it was a smaller venue (seats 10,000). I'm really glad I did because it was so loud and I would have probably fucked my hearing up from that concert alone.
The Police concert I saw wasn't too loud, and we were far enough back that it wasn't an issue. The same will go for the Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews Band concerts.

I just went to Hot97's summer jam at the giants stadium last weekend. Not sure if any of you are rap fans, but it was a great concert. Saw Kanye, Weezy, Jeezy, Rick ross, dj unk, fat joe, t pain, akon, dj kahled, jim jones, juelz, cam'ron (along with the whole dipset crew) and many more. That was my first rap concert I ever went to, and man did I feel out of place (Me being a 5'8 white kid) But I was drunk as shit so it was all good. Definitely something i'd do again.

I've been to two Tool concerts, and I don't need to look at the youtube links to tell you that the lighting spectacles they put on not only match the rhythm of the song, but they seem to add a whole new dimension to the performance.
The second one I went to was so awesome, Meshuggah opened up for them and in the middle of Tool's set, the rest of the band went and got a drink or whatever, but Danny stayed and started banging out a drum solo, which was obviously bad ass, but then the drummer from Meshuggah came out and they had a four-rack of toms set up and they had the nastiest drum battle I've ever heard. It went on for like ten minutes, it was sweeeeeet.

When Tool played in Fort Wayne, some Japanese band called Melt Banana opened and really sucked. During one song, the guitarist and singer came out to jam with Tool, too bad they sucked.

People didn't boo, but you could tell some people were getting pissed and wanted Tool to come on. It would be different if they were at least SOMEWHAT enjoyable to listen to. It was just noise and screaming. Some douche bags in front of us tried to start moshing too, but security broke that up pretty quick since they were right by the stage. I remember that during "Stinkfist" I think (I forget) some people started a mosh pit and were like punching each other. I was scared shock

Nah, but I brought enough to make the quality irrelevant. Verizon Wireless Music Center actually pats people down when they enter (it's pretty big, probably around 15k for capacity), so I put them in a Ziploc and put them in my shoes. When I was at Tool in both Fort Wayne and Auburn Hills, there was so much weed. Maybe more than at Jack Johnson, but definitely not more than Dave Matthews Band or Bob Dylan, that's for sure.
A side note why do people insist on getting SUPER fucked up at concerts? I saw people that were so drunk they couldn't stand up, and one guy tried to pour beer on us (I think) and then started yelling in very slurred English. Seems kinda pointless to get that wasted at a concert you're paying $40+ to be at when you can do that at home for free.

Las Vegas, right? A couple of friends were planning on driving down there, but it never actually happened.
I will also being seeing The Offspring and Alkaline trio may 29th I believe at the Pearl.
I will be at the Rancid show july 13th also.. They came here last july as well, and weren't quite as good as they had been in the past, but we'll see. Good openers atleast.

11-04-2009 10:54:18
JordanE, that Offspring show in Vegas is the 30th, they will be in SLC on the 29th. Also, that is the same Rancid show I will be at, so see you there!! Although do you know that Rise Against is the headliner?
JordanE
11-04-2009 13:14:04
Yeah, your right its the 30th I haven't checked the date since I bought my ticket.
Yeah man see you there. Actually I wasn't aware of that, everything I've heard thus far has indicated that Rancid would be heading that show. It really dosen't make too much of a diffrence to me though, I've seen Rancid three times now, and Rise against twice. As long as Rise Against dosen't overly play appeal to reason (not their best work IMO) its all good.

Last time I saw them it was like 2 months after ATR came out, and they only did 3 songs from it. I'm sure they will do more this time, though. It's fine with me as long as they do plenty of their older stuff too.

What's stopping you? I've been going to his concerts for a couple years now, and they are always a blast. The band puts on a great show and the crowd is usually pretty wild. They always play two nights in Noblesville, and friends and I camp out after the concert, which is always a big party. I highly recommend seeing him live.

sorry it's not in the video thread, but i thought the concert thread was more appropriate. if someone wants to move it or yell at me, that's fine.
i used a panasonic zs3 (i mentioned buying one in one of the camera threads) and the reason i posted this video first is sunday was the first night they ever played this song (written in 95) and all the u2 fans are wanting videos of it.
i don't have many pictures of the actual shows because i shot video the whole time, but here's me in front of the stage

oh okay then that kind of sucks i guess. i'm guessing because of this.
"Unfortunately, it seemed for most of the Blink fans, the crowd had to endure Fall Out Boy first. The band was booed before they took the stage, and the dismal sound quality of the first four songs didn't help the cause much--fans could barely hear the vocals. The members seemed to give up on impressing the crowd."
