This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. C Barry, isn't this the second time you've been duped into a hysteria over some viral scare? And both times quoted Snopes after Snopes actually says the hysteria is unfounded.

Yes, it's a real virus, but (a) not new, (b) does not do all the scary stuff claimed, and (c) only affects unpatched systems. Anybody with a recent version of Windows, which leaves Windows Update enabled as it comes out of the box, is immune to something like this.

I would have thought after the last time that you realize this. ANY TIME you receive an e-mail warning you about some scary, hysterical, or world-altering notice about some event (virus, get-rich-quick, etc.) and telling you to forward it to all of your friends and relatives, [id2ad43f06d]then that e-mail itself is considered a virus, and you yourself are propagating it.[/id2ad43f06d]
