Would you use this program? ONLY 2 steps. No referrals

1. They sign up at the program site.

2. The requirement is to sign up at 3 sites.
Two of them require credit card (or webcertificate) info.
The other requires credit card (or webcertificate) info and charges you $1.
None of them require you to cancel. They will not bill you again unless you
buy more PERIOD.

Thats it. No referrals.
But it will make a lot less money than those sites that have you sign up for something free at first but charges you an assload later if you forget to cancel. So there is only a 10% chance at the prize.

Would people do this?

The coolest part is I will offer people that know each other to form a group. So if they have 10 people I will guarantee them the right to be in the same drawing so one of them definitely wins. They can buy webcertificates for 10 people in their family for all i care. Then they would only have to spend $10 and would get an ipod shuffle for free. Free shipping too.

LMK what you think.

I think I understand what you're getting at, but I don't know if you'll be able to find sponsors willing to pay under those terms.

Kard63

02-03-2005 10:08:12

I already have the sponsors obviously if I have that many details. My programmer is working on the pho script to run the site and it will be up. Three days I'm thinking.

Instead of trying to figure it out from a business standpoint like many of you seem to be ( I have that covered and do not need help with it.) I want to know if people would sign up at these 3 hassle free sponsors for a 10% chance to get an ipod shuffle. Would you? Do you think many people would?

Its a lot more simple, but its a 10% chance instead of a sure thing. So I'm asking, "what do you think about that deal"?

Thanks
Dan

No way. I don't gamble or play the lottery, which is exactly what this would be.

I think thats a little unfair. Your odds of winnign power ball for buying a $1 ticket is 1 in 127,000,000. The odds of winning my ipod shuffle for $1 is 1 in 10.

Did you see the part where you can enter with your friends so out of the 10 of you someone you know wins for sure?

undertheradar

02-03-2005 10:28:23

All I care about is winning it for me...not my friends. And 10% odds for a $100 item is a no-go for me. I would rather just spend a few days getting 3 referals and get it myself...for basically the same amount of work.

Just curious, how would that ever cover the cost of an ipodshuffle let alone generate profit?

Stanleychs1437

02-03-2005 18:49:13

i guess the best of this would be being able to get your family in on it, other than that there's nothing that will attract anyone to do it. maybe if you up your % a little, because 1/10 still seems a little too low.....

02-03-2005 19:15:50

why would anyone give out their CC info for a 10% chance at winning an Ipod Shuffle?

Lunarpancake

02-03-2005 19:29:12

hah thats funny,........
what im not understanding is why would 2 of the sites require CC info if they are 100% free and never need to be canceled?

EpidemiK

02-03-2005 19:35:34

Nope

craser

02-03-2005 20:04:25

so are you now saying if i do 2 free offers, one $1 offer, you will then PAY me $15 paypal OR i get a %10 at winning the shuffle??? cuz i would probably do it for $15.

on a side note, epidemik has got a lot of free shit. how you liken all that? you freeoffer whore.

They WANT you to spend money there. You don't have to.

P.S. You all act fucking retarded about your Credit card info. I've had a my wallet stolen before and they used my credit cards. You only have to pay $50 no matter how much they charge. And that isn't going to happen. These are reputible companies.

You don't give CC info to my site. 3 big sites you have probably heard of. Very reputable.

Sounds very reputable when the creator is cussing out people for asking questions reguarding their CC numbers... roll

Let's go over your response as it relates to mine

[quotef1f1019692="Kard63"]P.S. You all act fucking retarded about your Credit card info. [/quotef1f1019692]
right, because it's a pain in the ass to deal with stolen credit card info.
[quotef1f1019692]I've had a my wallet stolen before and they used my credit cards. [/quotef1f1019692]
Case in point - you've had your CC info stolen and you're not concerned about that in the future? Remember how much of a pain in the ass it was to call all of the CC companies and get a new DL, and replace the lost pictures and the spare key for your car?
[quotef1f1019692]You only have to pay $50 no matter how much they charge. [/quotef1f1019692]
Wanna bet? Do you work for my CC companies? Can you guarantee that my CC numbers won't get stolen? I have no problem using my CC online - I would guess 95% of all of my purchases (with the exception of groceries and gasoline) are purchased online using a credit card. That's not to say I've never been concerned about my CC info.
[quotef1f1019692]And that isn't going to happen. These are reputible companies.[/quotef1f1019692]
Sometimes problems happen with reputable companies - google Choicepoint for an excellent illustration of that.

Now as far as calling the people that you're advertising to retarded? Well that's just a poor business idea - not as poor as the idea to give someone a 10% chance of getting a $100 prize. Of course if there was a way to pick the 10 other people you were competing against, you might interest more people. Because in that case you could get a family and a few friends together and have everyone sign up and then someone you knew would win for sure.
