Anyone have any experience with this? Is it really worth it?

I was recently looking into it and wondering if it could work if I put some time into it this summer.

I think i've seen this discussed before? I'm not sure but I think it's not really worth it.

the dropshipping market, at low volume like you'd probably be doing, is not profitable, at least on eBay.

yeah man, i remember a long time ago i joined one of those "get rich on ebay" things and one of his big points was dropshipping. I got the catalog and it was completely ridiculous. Brands I've never heard of make these terrible products that no one wants to buy and if anyone uses the same distributer as you, and plans to sell on ebay, the one person on the world that may buy this shit has already bought it from the one other person that's selling it.

It's a waste of time. Go dig some crap up from your basement and sell it. Much more profitable.

I joined a drop ship program and there were about 30 other items from the company on there (presumably from other drop shippers).

Definitely not worth it.

what?! now that is bad.
Dropshipping only helps the dropshippers, not you or me.
Its their business.

If I may inject my own opinion into this thread, I would be inclined to say that dropshipping is not the most profitable of venture currently available.

There are a few decent dropshipper/wholesalers out there, but you have to be good at marketing it if you ever plan to make a profit. I spent a lot of time considering a dropshipping business, and the meat and potatoes is really marketing. If you can't market, don't bother...
