A suggestion

I would like to suggest that, if you have your thread locked in the trading forum because you broke a rule, it also be deleted.

Why?

It serves as an example to anyone else breaking the rules.

Even though it is getting locked, they still have the benefit of their advertisment. Just a thought...

True, but like TSJ says, if we just delete a topic then nobody sees a rules violation, especially the violator. If they log back in and can't find their topic, they'll just create another and probably break the rule again.

By locking the topic it can't be bumped, and thus with the amount of traffic the trading forums get, it will move off the front pages quickly.

Anyway, I'll usually say in their thread, "Please read the rules (particularly on bumping)." so others can see it and learn from it. The violator usually sends a PM about it then we take care of it from there. TSJ and Dmorris already nailed the question so... yeah. Thanks for the suggestion though; those are always welcome. D

Hmmm... maybe we can change the sticky thread to a multi-purpose sticky and suggestion thread. We don't want take up TOO much space in the trading post areas so it might be a good idea to do that rather than make a whole new announcement thread.

ha, i didn't even realize you had responded to this, I got too enveloped in the avatar discussion D I wasn't necessarily suggesting having it go in the trading thread, mainly for that reason alone. It would take up too much room when you're already trying to keep the stickies to around 5-ish in your forum. I was just throwing that out there for like an Off-Topic type of thing. Sticky Off-Topic Suggestion Box.

It could be one of those semi-formal things where, you can make your honest suggestions, but just try and be, i don't know, constructive about it.

I have another suggestion

We should be able to minus a karma point from someone too. Like if they really piss us off or screw up a trade for no good reason, they should get minus a karma. I mean, honestly, when you think about it, what good is a measure of good deeds when there is no way to counterbalance it with the bad deeds?

DMorris, your thoughts? D haha, just kidding, you don't have to waste your time, I was just thinking about it haha. I would be negative Karma-ing the shit out of a certain someone that abandoned me after I went green for him.
