Aren't there some characters you don't unlock in Adventure Mode?

unknown uchiha

11-03-2008 10:16:25

You can unlock everyone in Subspace Emissary (Adventure Mode) by recruiting them (basically have them join your party, which is an automatic thing as the story progresses). There are three characters you can unlock in Subspace AFTER completing it (and revisiting three specific stages, all with new doors that lead to them), they are

[spoiler255027b14e]Jigglypuff (The Swamp)[/spoiler255027b14e]

Does anyone know how to change the controls so that when you are in the air you can use "z" as an attack instead of the dodge move? (So it's like Melee) I've tried changing the controls, but it only gives the option to change what "z" does on the ground...

puppeteer

12-03-2008 20:06:00

anyone noticed how "Pit" the character is really by far the the cheapest SSBS character?

he's jump and fly time is longer than any other characters lol... and his moves are all "turbo'ed"

akalic

12-03-2008 21:15:36

errr no not really.

this is how people claim a character to be the cheapest

1) choose a char
2) spam one move over and over again
3) win 2-4 matches in a row

puppeteer

12-03-2008 23:29:27

maybe Im jus really that good

unknown uchiha

13-03-2008 00:59:01

Pit's cheap. If you can knock your opponent up and just juggle him with Pit, you can basically ring-out them from above -.-

akalic

13-03-2008 01:19:57

DI = directional influence

I've never seen "juggling" in brawl, only in melee, its rare to see it in brawl so far. All you do is tilt your control in the direction you want to move towards after being hit, to get out of combos or whatever. If anything, metaknight is a better juggler than pit, but whatever

SEATTLE -- The 10-year-old boy who was critically injured when his playmates buried him head-first in a sandbox has died.

Codey Porter died at at 335 p.m. on Monday at Children's Hospital in Seattle. His family said the boy passed peacefully with his loved ones by his side.

Codey had been listed in critical condition at the hospital since Saturday's incident.

His half-brother, 30-year-old Joshua Quantrille, says Codey was playing with Quantrille's three sons and several other children on Saturday in the back yard of a home belonging to a family friend, in the 13800 block of 59th Ave. SE in unincorporated Everett.

There is a sandbox in the backyard, and Quantrille says his children told him Codey came up with the idea that they should bury him head first in the one-foot-deep sandbox.

I just bought a wii on a impulse buy (fist time I saw one in a store). Probably wednesday is when I will buy SSBB. Just one question about SSBB, I am a huge fan of the fist two, has it change much from melee (still having fun playing it) or has the gameplay changed alot.

akalic

16-03-2008 22:12:23

I feel that it is the the hybrid of ssb64 and ssbm since melee had the speed and the advanced techniques, and ssb had the pace of the game and the more straight forward fighteresque game play

unknown uchiha

17-03-2008 00:00:44

Brawl is slower than Melee. Melee was just intensely quick and dirty with all the advanced techniques. With Brawl, they've eliminated wave dashing along with changing the entire rules for air dodging. You can now air dodge multiple times, and it does not prevent you from using any recovery techniques (or render you "useless" like a falling brick) once you use it. What's gone with air dodging is the directional influence (no more DI for air dodges).

Characters have been nerfed and made slower. Fox's shine no longer has a downward spike imposed on it though you can shine multiple times to slow down your falling motion. Captain Falcon's knee is still there, but it's no longer as broken as it used to be. Gannondorf is way slower now, and though he still feels like a Captain Falcon clone his moves are significantly sluggish but insanely powerful if you can get them to land. Kirby is buffed up the wazoo. Mario's down-b is now a down-a with his down-b being a Super Mario Sunshine "FLUDD" attack thing. Falco's shine is now KICKED in front, a neat change. Samus can no longer do an extended grab (at least I haven't figured out how to yet)

You will definitely have fun playing Brawl. If you're hardcore on Melee, it will take some getting used to the speed changes in both movement and how long it takes to get a kill (one life plays out like at least one and a half to two). If you thought Adventure Mode was repetitive in Melee, then you will welcome Subspace Emissary (the new Adventure Mode) with open arms. It is literally a Kirby-style platformer that spans at least six to eight hours to solo.

akalic

17-03-2008 00:03:58

Yea i agree with most of what you said except that 1) fox's shine can still spike downwards, i've done it several times, to ike for example when hes trying to get back 2) i wouldn't say falcon's knee in melee was broken, it was his prime move that made him good, without it in melee, he'd be even worse (and he wasn't even top in the tiers for melee), his knee has been nerfed

isn't there DI for air dodges? i mean if i jump from the ground directly upwards, and air dodge, then the DI is upwards

RolltheStampede
