Hey All!

My name is Ryan and am one of the managers/owners of a relatively new freebie site. That said, I did put my time and hard work in at FiPG beforehand and actually had a ton of success at trading. Basically someone IM'd my site's AIM support screen name today and asked for some advice on how to boost their business and their Trade Thread. After I replied to them I thought maybe someone else might find this useful. If one person does--then I am a happy camper. [bc5d9b3ee0b]Keep in mind--the ONLY way to truly be successful is to make your greeners happy. Period. [/bc5d9b3ee0b]But I did have some things that, from past experience, I thought worked well in assisting that, drew more views to my thread and got initial attention. So here they are!

Tips to Maximize the EFFECTIVENESS of your Trade Thread[/sizec5d9b3ee0b][/bc5d9b3ee0b][/colorc5d9b3ee0b]

liliPlease keep in mind that these are just my opinions, they in no way are these magic steps and that plenty of folks have done probably the exact opposite of what I am saying and have done very well.

[bc5d9b3ee0b]Tip #1 - You NEED a Great Subject Line[/colorc5d9b3ee0b][/sizec5d9b3ee0b]
[/bc5d9b3ee0b]
Most people on FiPG have generic subject lines that are exactly like everyone elses, "Make Money Here!" or "Great for Newbies!" or "You can make 500 bucks!" but in order to have longevity and get people excited about your threat, it needs to be unique! Use a quote, use your name, have a slogan or a saying! Just be different. This way, when folks see your thread day after day, they know its you. This is probably my most important factor to driving business.

[bc5d9b3ee0b]Tip #2 - K. I. S. S.[/colorc5d9b3ee0b][/bc5d9b3ee0b][/sizec5d9b3ee0b]

Tons of threads on FiPG and other forums are chalk full of crazy text, giant lettering, moving pictures, and annoying colors. I don't know why this is. "Keep It Simple!" smile.gif The simpler the better. Stick to a few great colors, a little bolding, and make a short paragraph at the top of your thread telling people what you're about. Say who you are, what makes you different from everyone else on FiPG, and say what people need to do to start working with you. This works much better than making someones head hurt!
[bc5d9b3ee0b]
Tip #3 - You need to be PAYOUT COMPETITIVE[/colorc5d9b3ee0b][/bc5d9b3ee0b][/sizec5d9b3ee0b]

People are doing all the work by greening for you, so pay them for it! I am not going to tell you how much or what percentage to pay but it needs to be competitive. Period. Although, giant trader veterans do not have to comply with this AT ALL. If a new user sees you and a 185 trade-rated veteran offering the same 50% for a green, you are obviously not going to the the time of day. You need to show people that its worth their time to work with you. Also, if you are having folks green somewhere like Freebies4Me.net for example--which pays $75 per referral--you could either going to pay $35 per green, get 3 people, and make 120 bucks total, or you could pay $55 per green, get 10 people, and learn more than twice as much about the site, the process of greening, get more popular in the forum, get a higher trade rating, get more contacts/customers for repeat greens AND get 200 bucks profit.

[bc5d9b3ee0b]Tip #4 - You need to have a great "Go-To" site(and no, it doesn't have to be ours))[/bc5d9b3ee0b][/colorc5d9b3ee0b][/sizec5d9b3ee0b]

When people respond to your thread, MOST of them are going to tell you "hey, I want to start working with you!" with no direction whatsoever. They WANT you to help them, so do it! This is where you make or break your relationship. You NEED to tell them to go green on a great site. Not good, not decent, a GREAT SITE. And you need to know that it is a great site. Any support problems, crediting problems, ANYTHING, and that contact is most likely gone for good, and pissed off at you. On the other hand, if the person has a great experience, gets credited/paid out quick, that's a customer/contact for LIFE that you can work with greening again and again. I graduated from VaTech with a business degree and they always preached "A happy customer tells 5 people, an unhappy customer tells 20." Build the relationship and give them a great site to work on.

[bc5d9b3ee0b]Tip #5 - Bumping[/bc5d9b3ee0b][/colorc5d9b3ee0b][/sizec5d9b3ee0b]

ALWAYS Bump your site at dinnertime. I cannot stress this enough. This is the most popular time for the forum and for greening and WILL get you the most views, clicks, business. It's like what they say about EBay and how setting your auction to end on Sunday night at dinnertime always gets you more money. It does, I tried it, same concept. (separate conversation though) smile.gif You can bump twice per day so SPACE OUT your other bump, do it early if you are a morning person--8-10am. Do it late if you are a night owl--10pm or so. Another big point--most people just say "Bump" when they bump their thread. That makes your thread look bad and doesn't say anything at all. Say something, say thanks to some people, tell newbies you want to help them, say a quote from google, ANYTHING just dont say nothing at all. This way, your thread doesnt look like 14 "bumps" and a bunch of scattered comments, it looks like what it is--a great conversation with you talking to people about how you can help the.

[bc5d9b3ee0b]Tip #6 - BE HONEST WITH PEOPLE[/bc5d9b3ee0b][/sizec5d9b3ee0b][/colorc5d9b3ee0b]

This industry seems too good to be true for anyone not familiar. Every one of us thought this was "iffy" until we actually started making money. Just be honest about what you are doing, how much you are making, when things will happen and what people are saying. Also, be fair! Give folks the benefit of the doubt. In the long run this tip will help you more than anything to establish yourself in the freebie industry.

[bc5d9b3ee0b]Hope that helps anyone out! Please feel free to add or disagree with anything up there. Good luck and HAPPY GREENING!

Thanks for reading!!![/bc5d9b3ee0b]

Your acronym for K.I.S.S. is "Keep it simple." I think you're missing an extra "S" word in there, stupid. P
