foaf, are you partial to the four you've listed, or are you willing to branch a bit?

Check out
this forum[=http//ipastudio.com/forums/]this forum, which specializes in headphones exclusively. They have a pretty impressive knowledge and understanding of headphones... I've learned a lot from them, and they helped me find the exact type of headphones I wanted.

head-fi.org is another good headphone forum.
I had the vibes. The sound was alright, but I don't think they're worth the money. I was more disappointed with how they look. The pictures v-moda uses to advertise their products are fake. the real buds look tacky.

check out this 145 page thread about the vibes http//www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/v-moda-vibes-review-finished-56k-beware-big-pics-206693/
basically, the first version was a lot better than the ones they're making now.
I think the vibe duo is the same + mic

if you are happy with the MDAs, get them. if you use them a lot, they aren't something you want to experiment around with.
i have been using E4Cs for the last 3 years, but i was not going to suggest them since you already had your mind set on the three you listed.
the one thing i like about SHURE is they replace them free if anything happens to them. i have gone through 3 pairs because the plastic covering the wires begins to crack where it goes over the ear. i make a phone call, mail them in and a week later i get a brand new pair.
one thing i like about the headphones themselves is the earbud fits very nice inside my ear, blocking out all the outside noise. very important for a sound-isolating headphone.

I can't help you with the four you asked about, but...
Ear buds, FOAFY? For shame... On ear headphones are the only way to go...

I can branch. I like the in-ear headphones with excellent sound quality + amazing bass.

I'm not sure of your price range, but if you're open to suggestions outside your current choices and don't mind spending a bit more for some serious quality sound, I HIGHLY recommend
Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pros (retarded name, I know; they were actually originally suggested to me by someone here at FiPG). I've had Shure E2cs, Etymotics er6i's (because they are probably the two most popular buds) and some cheaper Sony in ear monitors and none of them hold a candle to the UEs I currently own!
Amazon has them brand new for $180 and you may even be able to find them cheaper on eBay.
They sound so bad ass because they have dual drivers. One for producing low frequencies and another for highs and mids, unlike typical, cheap earbuds which try to squeeze all of that out of one driver resulting in poor, distorted audio.
I don't mean to sound like an advertisement, but Ultimate Ears have been producing buds for big time musicians for years. Bands like Metallica, Linkin Park (not that they are any good P ), etc. use them on stage and in the studio.
Frankly, if I ever get another pair of buds, I'm sticking with UEs... I just might upgrade to their $1,000 Custom buds (with 4 drivers... Jesus Christ!), which actually require you visiting a professional audiologist to have custom molds made of your ear canals so Ultimate Ears can create a bud specially designed for YOUR EAR!

OMFGzzzz, I completely forgot to mention one of the badest ass features!!! Everyone knows, no matter how much you spend on a pair of buds, there is no way to stop the imminent cord short o UEs come with replaceable cords. You can actually disconnect the cord from the buds and buy replacements for $20 from their site (I haven't looked, but you can probably get some 3rd party version cheap). So, as long as the drivers don't blow, them bitches could last you the REST OF YOUR LIFE! BTW, cord shorts are still covered by warranty. They don't expect you to buy the replacement. Mine shorted out (I wear them to work so they can get snagged and tangled pretty easy, so quality wasn't to blame for the short) and they sent me a brand new pair.

The V-Moda Vibe Duos have... bad quality. Amazingly, my friend paid $90 for his and they lasted about a month before he had to send them in for warranty replacement.
Currently I'm using the Skullcandy Full Metal Jackets built for the iPhone. They cost me $40 at Macworld (a great benefit for going, great deals like this) and retail for about $80-$90 online though they're currently out of stock and have been since February (they revealed these at CES in January a week before Macworld).

Bump.
I'm looking for a pair of Overear Headphones that have decent sound quality but are cheap as shit ($30 and under). I was going to buy a pair of Philips for $20 today but the cord was 20ft long.
Any recommendations?

I use the Sennheiser HD 202s which I got for about $15 or so from buy.com
They're good over the ear headphones, but sometimes they bother my ears hen wearing them for a long period of time.

I just bought myself a pair of proper audiophile headphones. Grado SR-60s. They're not exactly "cheap" ($69), but they're the best set of headphones you can get under $100. They are awesome for listening to rock.

can i just ask what's wrong with a 20ft cord?
just loop it at the end and leave whatever slack you need. It will fit in your pocket.
I'm just taking a shot in the dark here, but since whoever makes these sub-$30 headphones most likely knows they blow, they try to mask the shitty quality with other great features.
Like a long cord. Isn't that big of them?

I used to have a pair of those and they were really good for the price, but they ended up just dying (I had them for a good few years).
I just bought another pair though from NewEgg. D

No pockets. I'll be using them for running/biking and I don't want to be carrying a 20ft cord in my hands when I run.

Sennheiser is a great brand. I'm currently using some Creative Fatality headphones, They were only 35-40$ on Newegg, and perform flawlessly. I love the sound quality, along with my Soundblaster Audigy 2 card.
