donating to websites- success in getting referrals?

I was just wondering if you have had success getting referrals by donating to websites such as this one, and having your referral link posted on the main page for 24 hrs or whatever the time is. I am considering making a few donations to this site and others. I will either way to support the site, but I'm just curious, how have your results been?

Id say most people who come here are either already signed up or know what theyre doing and will trade their referrals. Thats just my logical guess though, not speaking from experience.

I donated around Oct 2004.... I got one yellow. ) But I think this site had some technical difficulties... It's ok, I didn't mind not getting the results I expected cause it's supposed to be a "donation". )

i donated here when freeipods was the only site gratis had (besides free condoms, and their other pointbased sites)

and i got nothing, i complained and the webmaster put my link up all day, as theonly link. (usually the links cycle between 3 or 5 i forget)...anways still got 0 signups not even 1 yellow.


my advice.....dont donate unless you wanna actually donate to the site.....and dont care about the referrals.

At least you got a cool donator icon under your name P
