I added Other and voted.

No, not Verizon. Mine is through my local utility company. Not sure how my little town came up with it, but it's one of the "models" for the nation -- several major urban areas are looking at it as a prototype for their own private utility fiber rollouts.

I pay about $200/month for

- landline phone
- digital cable with 3 HD-DVR's, 1 HD receiver, HBO+Showtime
- 9M down / 2.5M up internet with a static IP and the blessing to run all the servers I want. ;)

That's about $20-$30/month less than I was paying for separate phone, crappy cable service through Charter, and 3M/768K DSL combined.

And yes, I love it. D

Depends on your providers. Around here, DSL goes higher than cable on both downstream and upstream speeds (6M/768K vs 3M/256K IIRC).

Not only that, but most cable providers strictly prohibit running servers, while most DSL telco's don't have server restrictions. Of course many cable companies don't enforce it, but it's a card they could play on you at any time if they're trying to maximize bandwidth in your area. Cable is still shared bandwidth within a node, while DSL is dedicated back to the switch.

Another reason I love my fiber connection. While my telco didn't care if I ran servers on my pokey 768K DSL upstream, how useful could it be? But with a dedicated 2.5M upstream and a static IP, my fiber provider says I can even sell hosting on my line if I wanted to. )

The only thing I don't like about Optimum Online is that sometimes they cap you for uploading too much.
Also, it gets a little slow during peak hours. I kind of want to switch for Fios, but it isn't available in my area yet. I'll definitely look into it once it's here though. My brother said he tested it out and loved it.
