While you may have some explanation as to why you are not cheating, it looks suspicous, and gratis is known to troll the internet to look for suspicous activity.

that's some of the crappiest, ugliest shite I've ever seen. Stuff like that is am embarassment to web developers and graphic designers everywhere. Folks like that need to be shot, or given a freaking cubicle job and never allowed out in the world where they can misrepresent an industry.

It's a possibility. All depends on your fundage. I mean, it'd have to be one of the guys who work for me doing the design. There's more than a dozen of us (not designers), so its possible. It's just an issue of how much $$ you have.

As long as he's working on hobby sites and nothing really commercial, I don't see anything wrong. Doing commercial-grade work [which doesn't seem to be his goal] requires a certain professionalism I think this guy's not quite reached yet.

i agree with the fact that it looks very un professional.
and just so i don't sound like some jackass ripping on people i do have experience in the field. summer intern as a web/graphic designer. currently a graphic design student, and starting my own web design company.
Back to the reason why i was going to post on this before i saw everyone else's posts... Anyone else notice that his minimac ref feral is listed on his site. it's in the bottom left corner. I was pretty sure that was taboo to link to a site that had your ref feral

Re the whole tripod thing... yea it is tripod... hey $5.00 a domain at 1and1.com leaves me with no overhead. So if I want to take a month off I can with out worring if i have enough cash for hosing fees. Although I am planing to switch over to a more pro hosting (1and1.com again) wink And Im only starting out so that was the best i could do. I used to work with that guy at another job...he actually has gotten paid substantial amounts of money to code those "sites" - $700-$1000 a job, I believe. What's really scary is that some of the people he's done sites for want him to keep working for them!

those are terrible. i don't know whether to be pissed off at the "coder" or at the people who actually spent that much money on crap like that.
in the other sense though when someone charges that much for a piece of shit it makes it possible for me to e-mail those people and redesign their site, make it look good (even though their expectations are already so low) and make some cash.
a free counter on a site that someone paid for... that's how you can tell the money to make the site was well spent...
