Im tryin to help my little brother with his high school algebra....sadly i am not getting it...

Jane earns $41 more a week than twice as much as Bill does. Together they earn $140. How much does each earn....

i thought this was would be the equation 140=2x+41

Selling Price = Cost + Profit

That one you should be able to do in your head.
