minor Legal advice

Well I haven't been on in a while and I remember the vast amount of intelligence of the members here (no sarcasm doylnea/dmorris wink)

I had a season pass to ski slope in my area and today I was caught taking 2 magnets from off of a car (for a prank), but a woman reported it as me trying to break into a car (claims she saw me checking door handles). I am now banned for life. Do I have any entitlement to a refund as they have no proof of me doing anything other than the 2 magnets I gave them? I'm out $300 for a very sttupid mistake and am looking fort any help I can get.

I don't think they HAVE to refund you, plus if you're banned...

If so, couldnt you just have the owner explain that it was a prank.

I don't think they're entitled to give you a refund.
I remember places like the Blizzard Beach water park at Disney would say they're not entitled to give you a refund if they have to close the park early due to inclement weather.

The best thing to do is just talk to them and see what they can do.
Theres no harm in asking. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a refund.

I was specifically told I am not allowed on the premises for any reason or they will call the cops. That was my first thought as I am friends with all of upper management at the place besides the guy who apprehended me.
Kinda sucks.

The plan was to cover my friends van with the magnets.


I didn't feel bad about taking them because they spend their money to show people how smug they are instead actually donating money to charity. Howver it wasn't my right to take someone elses crap that they paid for, regardless. I'm retarded or something.

Do you have anything written that states the terms of what you can and can't do?

Most likely the pass has a photo... I'd say try and contact the owner of the vehicle that the magnets were taken from and ask them to talk to the ski resort about letting you back in.

Well I called and spoke to the guy who yelled at me's manager and he agreed to let me back in in two weeks with an apology. I think its fair. Thanks for the input guys.

Thats good news. Ussually people are willing to forgive honost and admitting people. It just when people are smug or arrogant that people tend to not forgive. I am glad that in teh end it works out for you. I would even jsut write a formal and personal apology to the manager. It least he will know your sincere and it will help put this behind everything. Non the less. glad to hear it worked out.
