i saw this on cnn today at lunch... lame... not worthy of our discussion.

Can't say that I'm surprised. I am very disgusted that she is getting money out of this from one of the big magazines. Also, I think Nickelodeon should kick her slut ass off tv. She shouldn't be on a kid's show.

They are going to have to. What kind of image does it leave on a Children's network if one of the stars of their shows is a 16 year old pregnant girl?

They might keep her until it becomes noticeable, or they just might drop her altogether to maintain the network's "image".

All I see out of this is some 16 year old girl who got knocked up. I hate how everyone is talking about it now and it's huge news. I don't see how she is a slut either. seriously though she is having the baby instead of aborting it and keeping it a secret to save her career. I don't think we should pass judgment on her too harshly. She may be a hypocrite, and not a good role model but I can't imagine what I would have done having a child so young. Just because she is Britney's sister doesn't mean she is a dumb whore like Britney.

From the article I read yesterday, the show she was doing had already wrapped its final episode of its final season, so she was out of that gig anyway. Nickelodian dodged a bullet there, it seems.

You can't even say she has any credibility. They fricken sold the story to the highest bidder. Looks like the family loves all the attention. I don't think this is something to advertise or promote.

Gawd I hate to be the one defending her here but seriously, I can't believe some of you guys think she got pregnant solely for attention. Sure she's getting a lot of attention right now and I'm sure she's enjoying it but I don't think that was her original intent. I know most 16 year olds don't plan to have a baby and they get scared when they find out that they are pregnant.

Yeah it doesn't seem too hard to use the pill + the condom. Whatever though. I'm just saying she's not on some diabolical plan to get attention by getting pregnant. ;)

My thoughts - yes I think we all realize that this stuff is happening every day with younger kids all over the country. But obviously this case is going to attract attention - she's the sister of freaking Britney Spears! It was bound to get noticed. Get over it.

Next to everyone saying she's just a normal mom to be - as already pointed out normal moms to be don't sell the story to the highest bidder and goodness knows what else is next. Her best bet for giving their kid a 'normal' life as it could have would be to take the first private Spears family jet out of Hollywood and stay out for a few years. Will that happen? Doubtful but we'll see.

From what I understand, her mom sold the story to the highest bidder. She just kinda went along for the ride. And I agree that she should get serious credit for keeping the baby and not aborting it. Everyone seems to be focusing on the fact that she got pregnant at 16 and that's such a big deal, I walked into my old high school to pick my little brother up in May and just walking in I saw 3 pregnant girls within 5 minutes. It's not a rare occurence.

Despite it being a common occurence (as you mentioned), teen pregnancy is a serious problem. There needs to be a degree of responsibility in a sexually-active teen and they should know to use one or two contraceptives before engaging in intercourse.

I'm not saying accidents never happen. I'm just saying that teen pregnancy rates can greatly reduce if these teens were more responsible in their sex life (practicing safe sex).

It's comparable to how there are surveys showing that people who see stars smoking in movies increases their desire to smoke.

I was really surprised, I too thought that she was the only sane Spears out there! It did happen to be great timing for Nickelodeon, but that just keeps them from firing her. What about all of the Zoey 101 fans out there? Actually, my 8 yr. old and I talked about it and she knows that she didn't make a wise decision, but that doesn't make her a bad person, just not a good role model. Kids aren't as naive as some people think.

Haha, yeah, i think alot of people could say that. Our biggest city is Fargo (where I live) and has 100,000 ... i think it is jsut over 1/6th of the state population.

its little miss sunshine funny. As in, its the unconfirtable situations that make it amusing. Definitely not a laugh out loud film. Very different than the trailer gives off.
