I found this site through digg - there was a
video on the workings of the mind[=http//www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/184]video on the workings of the mind (watch it, it's very good) in the video section on there and I couldn't stop watching more. These lectures are really interesting. So far every single one I've watched has been very intriguing. If you find a cool one on there that you want to share, post it here with a quick summary. )
I thought this one was very interesting -

Basically, it's about taking a look at animal feet and implementing the design into modern technology. At the end of the video there, they show a robot they made that can actually walk up a wall without any suction cups or glue, but rather with tiny hairs (setae). It was pretty crazy how a big robot could use those tiny footpads to climb that wall without falling. BTW I lol'd at the crab trying to walk across the grating. lol
Anyway, there's a lot more interesting stuff on there. So post. )

@J4320 I saw a show on the Discovery Channel or something that explained how lizards can walk up walls because of the sheer amount of surface area on their feet. They also talked about the possibility for robots or humans to replicate it. Very interesing. I'll check out the site wink +K

[quote2f5ffe577a="J4320"]Neither of those links work for me for some reason. I'll figure it out through the link ID though.[/quote2f5ffe577a]
If you just do a search 2 and 4 will show up even though the direct links don't work.
I'm going to try to grab the other parts. Thanks for the links (for Ted and time).
