1. A football is kicked at an angle of 45 degrees to the ground with an initial velocity of 25 m/s.

How far does the football travel horizontally?

2. A boat is moving north at 2.7 m/s across a river that flows west at a rate of 1.2 m/s.

What is the boat's velocity relative to the riverbank?

3. A 0.159 kg rubber stopper is attached to the end of a 1.00 m string and is swung in a circle.

If the stopper makes .85 rev/s, what is the force the string exerts on the stopper?

If the rubber stopper is swung 2.3 m above the ground and released, how far from the point it was released will it fall to the ground?

ANY help is really appreciated.

Yeah, we've already gone over how our names are similar.

I'm a senior in high school. My teacher gave us a pretty big assignment before break, and didn't even lecture on it at all. So I have no clue what's going on. I just need a little help.

haven't touched physics in years. I hated it. good luck with the rest of the answers

Your teacher is probably trying to ready you for college. Not everything you do homework on will be taught thru lecture. Read the current chapter in the textbook. All will be explained...

not necessarily. For classes like Physics and Math a lot of the material is learned in class. HW is assigned in these classes to deal with examples of problems learned in class. Sure u may look over your textbook chapter for any assistance with a specific problem but if you have a good professor/teacher you should've leanred most of what you need in class. Notes always help.

Use vectors to solve it

editOOPS! it says west, not east. so make the 1.2 m/s go the other way ( to the left)

your end result should be X.X m/s northwest, and you can give the specific degrees if you want to do the trig.

that site will show you how to do basically anything in highschool physics. just find the subject in the left column.
