Engineers do a lot of varied jobs. With an engineering degree you can go lots of different ways aside from just being an engineer. If you are asking what the most general job of an engineer is, it's problem solving.
You will work with a team of engineers to build a project. ME's would work on just about everything with moving parts, they are like EE's always in demand and jobs aplenty. If you graduate with an engineering degree from a decent university you are looking at $50,000 as a floor salary right now. Some people come right out of college making $80,000 though too.
You could also go back to school get a more specialized degree, or a law degree and become a patent lawyer making $150,000 out of law school.
Are you in college already, or still in high school?
Anyone on now and wanna answer the questions?
