Any recommendations on some alternative or old school Christmas music?
None of this Michael Bolton, Celine Dion, cheesy pop , run of the mill shite.

I agree with you, I can't stand the cheesy stuff! I have a really nice CD (if you still listen to CDs) called Pianoel (vol.2). It's all instrumental with an emphasis on the piano with a slightly jazzy edge, and it's all the traditional songs. It's easily my favorite holiday music. Every year when the I put it on, the kids know the holiday season has begun. Reminds me, I have to go look for it! Hope you get some other good suggestions, it seems more and more difficult to avoid the current pop artists' "Christmas Albums".

I am so sick of Christmas music. I hear it every time I turn on the television beginning in late October, and any place where a person can purchase something throughout November and December. Year after year, over and over, the same stupid ass songs... I don't know how much more I can take.
Anyways, to answer your question Bing Crosby is probably what you are thinking of when you think "old school" Christmas music. The only form of Christmas music that I enjoy is the kind that keeps me entertained and laughing because Christmas should be fun, not boring and dull. If I have to give a recommendation on a Christmas album that is worth picking up it has to be
Afroman's A Colt 45 Christmas[=http//www.amazon.com/Colt-45-Christmas-Afroman/dp/B000I5YCJC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1195718086&sr=8-1]Afroman's A Colt 45 Christmas. The album is all parody Christmas music that incorporates sex, violence, and drug abuse in a humorous way. Therefore, it is completely awesome ).

The Sugarhill Gang.
Just play [i2928b1af2b]Rapper's Delight[/i2928b1af2b] on repeat.
But seriously, go with some Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley. They sound holiday-ish and they're actually good singers.
