Ehh.. So I went to a concert about a month ago (sept 30th) with a bunch of friends and my little brother. Well show starts Everytime I die is about 20 minutes into their set and some fat fucker (maybe 5'10 190-200lbs) is messing with my little brother naturally I step in and me and him go at it. He hit me in the face with something (a witness said it looked like a belt buckle) cousing me to bleed pretty bad and then stomped on my right foot quite hard. I punshed him as hard as I could cleanly to his throat cousing him to cough and stumble around.

Shortly after hitting him Security rips us both out I go straight to EMT's to get cleaned up. I was allowed to stay and the other guy was kicked out for the night.

Well now a few weeks later my foot was still hurting pretty bad so I went in to get x-rays done and to my surprise it came back showing 3 broken bones in my right foot. Fuckin Hooray!

So now too months in a cast with crutches. The funny thing is is that i've been walking, working out, working..etc for about a month now on it. Which looking back probably wasn't a good idea becouse didn't help anything and may have made the injury worst.

Well this really sucks i'm not sure how im going to be able to work with a cast and crutches.

</rant>

The potential upside to this though is my friend Nicole wants to take me to a strip club next saturday for my 18th so maybe i''ll get some pitty from the stripers lol.

Moral of the story; don't fight guys who have like 50lbs on you even if they're way shorter than you, couse they might smash your foot roll

21-10-2007 00:19:53

Good luck on your recovery. Yeah foot injuries are weird. I've heard similar stories of people walking around with a broken foot for a few months before. It sounds kind of strange but obviously it can't be too painful if they're walking around on it. BTW I like your moral of the story. lol

mnx12

21-10-2007 00:31:17

Wow that sucks. One time at a show some guy randomly grabbed my cousin and some other kids heads and smashed them together. He got a really deep cut on his forehead and got something like 15 stitches. You can still see the scar, and that venue had carpet so I think they still have blood stains all over the floor.

J4320

21-10-2007 00:36:29

Yeah there are some serious dicks out there in the crowd. One time I saw this average guy wanting to crowd surf so 2 people were helping him up then this big sweaty Mexican comes by and shoves him as hard as possible when he was about 7 or 8 feet high. He fell the the concrete floor and then all of these people helped him up. The guy started limping away toward the side. What an asshole.

21-10-2007 00:40:44

I think some of these dumbasses come to concerts just to fuck around with other people in the crowd. Luckily, I'm not a scrawny fella so I don't have to worry too much when it comes to being pushed around in a mosh, but damn. Some of these little moshers sure can throw their weight around lol

At the Tool concert, I was standing right at the edge of a mosh bubble (?circle?), and was constantly being run into. I just jabbed anyone who came near me with my elbow )

J4320

21-10-2007 00:47:51

^ lol

You're supposed to just keep pushing them back in. Elbowing isn't very nice. lol

JordanE

21-10-2007 01:06:12

At vegas underground shows you can usually expect to get pushed around a bit a couple elbows..etc and if someone actually gets hurt its usually a total accedent, for instance while moshing, hardcore dancing, slam dancing..etc if someone falls on the floor (thats when people REALLY get hurt and sometimes die) you will usually see just about everyone in the pit circle around him/her and help them up make sure their okay that kind of thing.

The crowds atleast on the floor/pit are usually the same people at each show. Theres alot of unity and while yes, what gose on is dangerous everyone is usually looking out for one-another. We have groups similar to FSU that rid the crowd of the true assholes and out of line tourists in there own "special way" (wink wink)

Unlucky for me this time I was going in alone, but generally its not as brutal as it looks and nobody is actually trying to hurt anybody its just all in good fun.

Not this time though I guess.

Foot injuries aren't so bad. I had a broken foot and I didn't even feel it after a couple weeks—was playing soccer and on the running team and everything—and only found it by a fluke x-ray.

What sort of injury is it that requires a cast and crutches? I just had a weird looking boot that took the pressure off of the foot.

21-10-2007 11:25:55

Woah dude, I hope you're ok. I was at a concert last night, for this jam band Umphreys Mcgee, and the opening act was this band called Tragedy, a funk metal tribute to the Bee Gees, and although the band was one big joke, this guy tried to start a mosh pit, but just ended up pushing some dude who fell over this little railing onto the other side of it, they both got thrown out.

JennyWren

21-10-2007 13:51:08

Most mosh pits I've been in have had pretty good etiquette. The first one (Billy Talent) was a bit brutal, I got whacked in the eye in the first song and ended up with a bit of a black eye. Usually they're pretty good though. If you are on the edge of the mosh pit, you have a responsibility to help push people who are moshing. Don't elbow them! If you don't want to contribute, avoid the pit altogether. I actually quite like the "buffer zone". I like moshing too, but so often there are massive sweaty guys and I get squished pretty easily.

It's a bit funny being female in a mosh pit. I went to SOAD with my BF and I was totally flinging people into the pit. Then they'd turn around, see my BF (ignore me) and toss HIM into the pit. It was a hoot.

Regarding feet, yeah, I'm pretty sure that it's easy to have broken foot bones and not know it. I stubbed my toe twice on the same weekend a couple of months back and I thought it was ok, but now it hurts when I run or bend it, so I think I might have busted something. Oh well.

aviendha47

21-10-2007 14:34:43

Glad you're alright. I broke my toe once and didn't know it until I saw it was at the wrong angle. Concerts can be hella dangerous sometimes. I was with a friend who got elbowed in the stomach real hard and ended up having a miscarriage. Really bad time. cry

That's the thing the actual seats were too far for me. I wanted to be up close. There weren't too many mosh pits, but I just happened to be on the edge of one. Call me a prude, but I'd rather enjoy the live show than get constantly run into, and I'll be an asshole to anyone who gets in the way P Besides, everyone was smoking pot before and during the concert. A few years ago I was at a POD concert in a fairly small venue. After the show started there were some real raging mosh pits going. The band even encouraged them from the stage haha. I was by myself that night though so I didn't feel like stepping in to the pit. The only other option was go waaaay in the back with the tshirt table or cling to the front railing. I chose the latter and hung on to that fence for dear life

JordanE

I'm 6'2 144lbs, I run cross country and play lacrosse plus i'm just not prone to gaining weight.

I know that 5'10 200lbs isn't that over weight but this guy did have a beer belly. Grainted by modern standards hes probably not "fat" but I now have a strong dislike for him so I am going to call him a fat fucker regardless.

Honestly though, I think had security not broken us up I think I would have won the fight. The shot to the throat appeared to fuck him up pretty good one or two more blows and he might have been KO'd. Then again he did break 3 bones had he known that at the time he would probably consider it a victory for himself.

Becouse I like them? lol it was Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Posion The Well, Everytime I Die and Underoath.

I don't care for Underoath but my friends like them alot. Personally I was olny there for the opening acts and would have paid the $22.50 I spent on the ticket just to see them. It would have been a better show IMO had Everytime I Die or PTW been the headliner instead of UO especially becouse they just had a new album come out and underoath hasn't done much in the last year or so, but i'm alittle bias I guess becouse I don't like underoath.

lol, I wasn't referring to Jordan, was referring to this Cole character. Meant "you" proved as in by posting the pic.

But yeah, bball already has a pic of me in his avatar. Don't hate this sexy bod.

On another note, the main reason why I think it is too low is because I know a lot of women that I would consider to be smokin' that don't way too much less...and they are women.

Jessica Alba for example is like 5'7" and weighs about 125 (I believe). So she is 3" shorter and 25 pounds lighter. But she is a woman, and woman are in generally less dense.

I didn't say anything was wrong with being skinny, I am talking about overly skinny. Last time I checked, Nicole Richie and Angelina Jolie aren't looking too sexy these days.

But either way, yeah, nothing going on much on fipg, to best way to get a thread going is to argue, duh.

Actually, I am 5'10" and 150 lbs. I put on about 5 lbs over the past few months, and my body fat went from about 3-5% to about 10%, mostly because I haven't rock climbed since August. I've also put on a significant amount of muscle, but since my body weight hasn't changed that much I'm assuming the muscles have just grown less dense as I've replaced rock climbing with weight lifting.

The point being that weight doesn't count for much in terms of appearance. You can weigh the same and look completely different.

I don't really remember the point of this thread, though.

My injuries didn't accure simply becouse I was in the pit. They came from in actuall fight that accured just outside of the pit, one that couldn't really be avoided.

Those in this thread who are complaining about being elbowed a bit in pits shouldn't be in them. If you can't handle being pushed around a bit than the floor isn't for you and perhaps neither is the concert.

I never understood how running in a pit and shoving people around "gets your anger out." I might understand if you're mad at the moment but it's weird to think that you're getting yesterday's anger out by jumping into a pit today. Moral of the story; don't fight guys who have like 50lbs on you even if they're way shorter than you, couse they might smash your foot roll[/quote0315876236]

[quote223b0df31f="J4320"][quote223b0df31f="JordanE"]Ehh.. He hit me in the face with something (a witness said it looked like a belt buckle) cousing me to bleed pretty bad [b223b0df31f]and then stomped on my right foot quite hard.[/b223b0df31f] I punshed him as hard as I could cleanly to his throat cousing him to cough and stumble around.

I have a 5 speed jeep wrangler. Driving olny with my left foot could be pretty hard. Plus right now i'm not balanced very its hard to explain but I don't feel like I really have control of either side of me.

to tell you the truth, u'd kinda be a bad ass if you could drive the 5-speed with a broken foot... you should try, that'd be sweet!

[b6833f7f338]Update[/b6833f7f338]
After being out of a case for about two months my foot started hurting again this time way worst. So I had new x-rays done which showed the 3 previous breacks which where 95% healed when the cast came off the first time according to my doctor, are now broken yet again and there appears to be a new fracture on the 5th metatarsal.

Surgery this tuesday to get 4 screws and a wire brace put in and then a cast for 6 weeks.

I fucking hate my foot.
