So my roommate left today at noon to go get a motorcycle about 2 hours away. He planned to be back by 6 and were were both gonna go for a ride together, but I'm kinda worried. It is now 915 EST and he still isnt' back.

I wouldn't really be worried because he is the person that got me interrested in bikes, and actually taught me how to ride somewhat. But he hasnt' really ridden in about 3 years and was never good enough to pass his license test (I did though). And I actually let him ride my bike that I just got and to tell you the truth, I think he was well out of practice.

But he insisted that he was fine and he would have no problems with the 2 hour trip on the interstate on a bike bigger than he had ridden before.

So I've been calling him every once in a while but he isn't answering. I mean I dont' either when I'm riding and I dont' realize that my phone is ringing either. But he is pretty late and I'm getting nervous. What should I do? I dont' have anybody elses phone number that would be able to let me know if everything is ok.

Wait until tomorrow -- if you don't hear from him by like mid-day then I would say call the POLICE!

I have no idea where to look for him. All I know is that he went to shippensburg. But that is 2 hours away, and I dont' know what way he went. So I dont' think my chances of finding him are very good. Especially at night.

That is a good idea, but I think I might have a problem sleeping with the possibility that my roommate could be in a hospital somewhere.

lmao

On a 2 hour ride? I would do what TTGP said. It's pretty much the only thing you can do, given your situation. Hopefully he's alright.

Where did he go for the bike? A shop or something? If so, call them...

Also, do you think maybe he went to show it off to someone or something like that...

He saw it on craigslist and is buying it private party.

He may have gone to show someone. That is what I'm hoping, but it's still something that can be kinda scary. And he did plan on comming back here first.

Anyway that you can get a hold of his family or a girlfriend? Maybe see if they have heard from him but don't tell them the story to freak them out too.

I dont' know any of their numbers. I tried looking up his parents number but it is unlisted. And I never got his girlfriends because we have a mutual hatred for eachother.

I'm hoping he is home soon. I'd say he should be here by 1130 at the latest even if he went to show somebody because he is usually in bed by then anyway.

You could try calling the hospital.

So he was riding w/o a license? Sounds like a bad idea. I hope he's ok. Maybe there was just a problem with the bike and he had to take it to a shop or something.

Lets play detective. )

That wouldnt explain why he hasnt called or why he doesnt pick up his cellphone.

Stuey, any chance of getting robbed? I assume he left around noon?

He just keeps getting his permit renewed, so it was perfectly legal for hime to drive until about 8pm when it got dark.

How would I go about calling a hospital? I mean I thought about doing that, but I wasn't sure how. . . I mean I'm sure there are tons of hospitals between here and there.

I guess there could be a chance of that. . . I mean I dont' think too much around here, but I'm not familiar with shippensburg so it could happen.

I was thinking maybe his phone fell out of his pocket and he was looking for it??? I mean I'm always worried about losing shit when I'm on my bike.

my roomate had a bike last sememster, i was worried about him because he always went to bed at like 930 every night, and he wasn't home at 1 when i was going to bed he decided to stay at a freinds house and didn't get home until 530 in the morning before morning practice at 6...

I'd say just chill about it until morning, if he isn't back then, start to owrry and call some people up...

Any news? Is he home yet? Maybe he had a couple beers and didn't want to drive and then it got dark and he isn't supposed to drive after 8 PM and he fell asleep and forgot to call you. Hope all is well.
Let us know.

Soooo is no news good news or bad? ?

My ex bought a bike and crashed it the same day. He hit some sand and slid for awhile. I'm glad we decided to follow him. He ended up with a big hole in his side. He got lots of staples and stitches. He lived unfortunately (HEHE just kidding).

SO i hope your friend is ok also!! Keep us posted...

Ok well I'm not sure what happened but there was still no sign of him in the morning when I left for class. But I just got back and there are some extra dirty dishes so I guess he is fine. I still havn't seen him yet. And if he didn't wreck his bike I'm gonna kick his ass cuz I called him like 15 times.

Thanks for your concern everyone.

stueybaby17

19-09-2007 13:26:16

Ok so I finally was able to call him. . .

He said that while in shippensburg he got a call about a "family problem" of which he didn't care to elaborate. So he went right home and stayed the night at home. The answer for not answering his cell phone was that it was in his girlfriends car and he did not get it back until he went to classes today.

Not sure what the family problem is, but I still havn't seen him because after his classes he went right home again.

I'm very glad to hear that your roommate is okay and man, am I glad this riveting post is through. Next time, tell him just to give SOME sort of indication that he's alive regardless of the situation. . .a text message, SOMETHING!

Sorry, totally off-topic, and nothing against you in particular (I've seen all "newer" ppl do it). I guess I'm just a stickler for vernacular.
