all at once, you might get a deal, but ask

it's a simple question -

Are you paying interest on the payment plan? If so, it will be cheaper (assuming you have the cash, and aren't financing your braces by using your credit card or a loan) to pay everything off immediately.

If not, TVM suggests you can earn more money by using the payment plan, assuming you invest the money.

my teeth have moved around so much after I got my braces off. I wear the retainer almost every night, too. I mean they still look nice, but not the same as when I got my braces off. ask your orthodontist to put one of those permanent retainers in. I wish mine would have offered (.

I have permanent retainers, both on top and bottom. They do break however, and mine happened to break while on travel for business. Though it is free to get them fixed, or it was for me anyways.

Is there a cutoff age for when you should no longer consider braces?

21 is a bit old to be just now getting them.

But as stated above are you paying intrest if you choose payments? If so than the answer if obivous. If your not than mine as well just make the payments, might help you build some credit as well.

I've seen parents with braces...(mid-30's to 40's.)

I have TMJ and I had to change orthodontists. Trust me, if your teeth looked anything like mine, get braces. Mine closed all gaps in literally the first 10 weeks and I have never been happier. Plus, I heard in the long run its better for your health (that is with TMJ).

Yeah, lots of older people get braces. My sister-in-law is around 38 or so and has braces. I work with a girl in her late-20's or early-30's with braces as well. It's not really THAT uncommon.

My mom got braces about two years after I got mine off. ;) Luckily for my parents, insurance paid a lot on mine, but unluckily, insurance rarely pays for braces on anyone over 19.

Good luck, and don't plan on a steak dinner for a few days at first, as well as after each wire tightening appointment. ;)
