Anyone want to recommend a nice pair of headphones?

I'm looking to buy some, and I don't want earbud's or anything that goes inside my ear.

I want the big obtrusive headphones that make you look stupid

I find that the in-ear [ib3fbd2c0b8]canal[/ib3fbd2c0b8] ones drive me absolutely insane. I could never buy Etymotics or Shure.

However, the forward facing style that Sony created that sits on top of the ear canal, but doesn't go in are perfect for me.

This kind

You might find those more comfortable too, rather than totally jump to earcups.

I'm a total audiophile and I'm quite pleased with my Sennheiser HD 25-1. It's a bit pricy—~$300, when I bought them three years ago—but their overall sound quality is pristine and they're built like tanks. My [i9d06d74523]only[/i9d06d74523] qualm with them is their comfort, but they don't get uncomfortable until a few hours' use, and even then it's not too bad.

They'd be my first suggestion, if they're in your price range.

I was really shopping for nice headphones and was seriously looking into the ATH-ES7. Since then, my cash flow has taken a different direction wink

You can find a lot of nice headphones at AudioCubes as well.

Sennheiser PC151 or PC166 FTW! Only $50 for the 151 and $70 for the 166 D

I've used a pair of those sony's before tholek and they didn't really do it for me either. This pair will be strictly for home use anyways.

I have read lots of good things about sennheiser, I think the HD280 is right in my price range too.

Thanks!

I ordered a pair of Grado SR80s a little while ago. The Grado SR60 ($70) and SR80 ($95) seem to give the best bang for the buck, read around. I would easily pick them over the HD280s (and I did).

I bought some Sennheiser (sp?) phones that sound really good and I only spent about $50 on them. The kind that engulf your ear with the big foamy cups.

I also need a pair of earbuds, these iPod ones are dying.

NP. Go for earcups. (I only picked up on the "[bbc87e0dae7]in[/bbc87e0dae7] the ear" bit as the sole reason you didn't want those kind) )

I've got Sennheiser HD570s. Awesome sound and nice big fuzzy cups that go way around your ears so you can play online games for hours without getting squishy overheated ears.
