How exactly do custom orders work on sites? I never really understood.

You choose custom order, order it, then tell the site what you want. Then they ship it to you like any other gift.

Ok, I obviously get that part...I mean how do you even know what to pick...you can't just name anything.

You provide the link, they tell you based on price how many referrals it is and then they order it when you achieve the requirements.

and despite what it says it's not 0 referrals ;) i get so many people who attempt to order without doing anything at all, and without telling me what they want...
my sites have a $75 minimum value but you can pretty much order anything you want - so long as it's legal.

I never understood why folks would custom order. Why not just cash out then buy the stuff yourself?

True, unlike items listed on some sites (which usually retail in general for more than the paypal payout listed), custom order ref value sometimes revert to same scale of the paypal payout. That has caused me to skip over some sites that I may have started otherwise.

you get the full $40/ref on my site, when you custom order. but one reason people do it i think is just that when you get cash, you feel more obligated to spend it on necessities like bills, not on something fun.

That's so true. And these unusual issues pop up as well. It's as though money comes with things to spend it on.
