I was just watching Letterman and Drew Carrey was on there promoting his new game show "Power of 10" or whatever and he announced that he is going to be the new Price Is Right host. He just found out 15 minutes before on the phone that it was confirmed.

I wonder how long that will last..

Yeah, I dunno. I don't mind Drew Carrey except for the fact that he dropped off the face of the earth for the past few years but....He just doesn't seem like the Price Is Right type to me.

Hmmm...Seems interesting.
I wonder how it will turn out.
He was an alright host on "Who's Line".

Drew Carrey, GTFO.

he retired.

He is a much better choice for host than that fat slob Rosie O'Donnell.

I really can't think of anyone better to replace Barker (at least no one else comes to mind). I say its a good choice.

I think this is a terrible idea....

A bowl of feces would be better than her, and probably have a more pleasant scent. ;)

He can probably do both, hopefully, I love Who's Line (

No one can replace Bob Barker.

24-07-2007 06:12:18

Not a big fan of this decision. I think he'll be bored to tears in a month.

I say Michael Vick should be the new host.

turbohim

24-07-2007 06:27:54

Haha to Vick. He woud steal the dogs SPCA donates to the show.

Seriously. No matter who was picked, they can't compare to bob barker

dmorris68

Barker's shoes are definitely huge ones to fill, but I like Carey and think he'll do fine. He's great at ad-lib and being funny unscripted, and I thought he did a great job on Who's Line. He's apparently gameshow material since he was tapped for another new primetime gameshow already, and will now be doing both. Plus Carey has Barker's blessing, although so did Rosie.

Rosie would have been a disaster.

jeagle82

24-07-2007 07:18:04

Exactly! Bob Barker is irreplaceable! But, I DO think Drew Carey was a decent choice...

zdub08

why does everyone bitch about Rosie so much?

justinag06

24-07-2007 09:16:22

Because she has become very outspoken of late, since joining, and resigning from the View. She used to be the super nice funny straight lady on during daytime. Now everyone sees her as the big lesbian bitch.

I also think carey will be bored as shit with the show. There is nothing to it once you get older than 11, until you hit about 65. It's all product placement, and old people. I really think they choose the dumbest people to be on that show.

Shes just an irritating woman to listen to. She was then, and she is even worst today than back when she had her little talk show.

But "super nice" and "funny"? I would never fathom the idea of putting those words together with her name. o

jeagle82

24-07-2007 10:03:18

Yeah, I hear ya h3x... Rosie is a super bitch! She's done numerous interviews where she was completely retarded and rude, and she's been known to abuse paprazzi. I'm with everyone else that says she's annoying and I'm SUPER glad she's not doing The Price Is Right.
I'm glad Chuck Woolery isn't either, who for some reason keeps getting jobs hosting gameshows. He's ridiculous!

ILoveToys

24-07-2007 10:49:33

Rosie would have never actually gotten it. Too many old ppl watch the show, and believe it or not, more often than not, old ppl are pretty conservative, and wouldn't be too quick to embrace the lesbian bitch that Rosie is.

Whenever i think of Bob Barker and golf, I can't help but think of the scene with Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore! haha. Hilarious stuff right there!

Wolfeman

24-07-2007 12:49:47

I think no one can replace Bob Barker but Drew Carey is the perfect choice. I would've killed myself if Rosie O'Donnell got the job...

nobody2000

24-07-2007 13:22:48

I think Drew Carey is a good choice. I couldn't think of better myself.

I'm surprised how many ppl in this thread spelled it CARREY before someone spelled it right.

Now, Drew needs to golf, kick the shit out of Adam Sandler, AND get a black belt (I think in Tae Kwon Do) to match Bob Barker.

Yes, Bob Barker could kick ass....literally.

dmorris68

24-07-2007 13:30:14

Carey was a Marine though. If he lost a few pounds he'd probably still kick some ass. Hell he might be able to without losing it... lol

I think Drew Carey is going to do well. I even liked The Drew Carey Show and Who's Line anyways.

JJPRO11

24-07-2007 16:48:05

carey's a good choice. he's versatile and is good for both the young and old audiences. as long as that fat cow lesbo doesnt get the job, im happy.

24-07-2007 20:14:37

so many people saying it was a horrible choice, but who else should they have picked? I would like to hear who people that think drew was a bad choice think it should have been....

I personally can think of absolutely no one better than drew, and i'll watch the show when i can like I do now...

givmea1032

24-07-2007 21:44:30

Well, all I have heard that were trying out were Drew, Rosie and Ian from 90210.... So good choice.

And remember help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered.

jeagle82

25-07-2007 07:31:10

Yeah, Barker would say that at the end of EVERY show, without fail. I wonder if they'll have Carey say that, or if they'll retire that closing statement and give Carey his own.

dmorris68

25-07-2007 07:41:20

That was a personal message from Barker, as he spent much of his life as an animal activist. It wasn't a network or show message, and I doubt they'd want Carey to continue it. Barker probably wouldn't expect him to either since it isn't Carey's cause. Then again Carey might do it out of respect for Barker, or share the same passion for animals, so who knows...

jeagle82

25-07-2007 07:52:24

Yeah, good point. It'll be interesting to see what changes Carey brings to the show.

I really hope that the producers of the show don't decide to take Barker leaving as a green light to change the entire show around. I fear if they mess with it too much, they might lose some of their loyal viewers that they've accrued over the many years.

mnx12

25-07-2007 08:48:18

I still think Marilyn Manson would have been the best choice....

BabyRocks

25-07-2007 09:26:52

I cant imagine Drew being a host for that.
I cant imagine anyone being a better host then that other guy.

jeagle82

25-07-2007 09:29:53

that other guy = Bob Barker, right? lol

BabyRocks

25-07-2007 09:34:08

gnznroses

25-07-2007 10:56:29

they should've just found someone completely new, instead of some guy whose every show he's been on has been a turd.

justinag06

25-07-2007 11:20:08

do all you guys really regularly watch the price is right?

dmorris68

25-07-2007 12:01:45

I haven't watched it in years, but as a kid all the way up until I left home, it was usually on in either my mom's house or the older sister's house (where I spent most summers). I watched a ton of it back then, and if I were the daytime TV watching sort (I'm not) I'd still probably watch it.

jeagle82

25-07-2007 14:13:45

Problem is it comes on at 10am during the week, so anyone that either a) has a real job, b) has a real life or c) all of the above, they probably don't hardly watch it except once every few months or so. But nonetheless, it's still a great classic show!

givmea1032

27-07-2007 21:09:50

I don't go to work until 100 pm so I watch it. My 5 year old and 3 year old like it. I'd rather watch that than some of the cartoons on nowadays. Not that there's a lot on in the morning....
