For the most part a referre can't change the end result of the game. Sure they can give the unwarrented foul, but if it consistantly changed the outcome, the league would have picked up on this earlier.

Have to agree there! A bunch of kids playing their hearts out because they love the game! Not going through the motions because they are paid millions to do so!

Um...no, I was just wondering if it was related to OU basketball/possibly Kelvin Sampson, since he coaches IU now (and that's where I'm going next year).

Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for Boise State in that game (who wasn't short of OU fans?), but I surely hope you don't think if BSU played anyone halfway decent or played in any of the big conferences, they'd be in a BCS game.

Not at all...you should know i'm a die hard Boise State fan...but i know the facts as well. Actually...i watched every game last year and did not think they were as good as the team they had several years ago. In fact...i kept expecting them to loose a game. I figured in a one time shot...they could compete with a big school, but did fully expected them to get beat. I do realize if they were in a big conferance they would not be in a BCS game. But they do pretty well with the talent they can recruit! Yes...they could not compete with the big schools consistantly...but they don't have the advantage of pulling in the big names either. You won't hear many people from Idaho say this...but i really did not think the team was good enough to go undefeated last year and was shocked that they were not whipped by OU. Its a hard situation for OU though...how do you get up for a game like that? You are suppose to win easily. If you win...nobody cares. Of course BSU was going to bring their best game...it was a once in a lifetime opportunity! I still vote for a playoff system of some kind! And yes i know...BSU would not have made it far in a playoff. But there would have been a lot of fans tuning in for the next game!
