Thoughts?

Since he has had a mostly clean record in the past, I don't see a full season suspension, those there are TWO felony counts.

Umm. It is about time.

I see him sitting out this season. Goddell (sp?) is really trying to clean up the NFL.

......if you don't see why this is illegal, you really need to be smacked....

I've heard that he killed a few dogs because they weren't performing well, a few by drowing, a few by hanging, and even one by slamming the dog into a concrete ground......I have no respect or pity for someone who does that.

This is why Max the Pit Bull mauls baby Frank.

But it's the dog's fault right? shrug

what a bastard... I lost two of my dogs very early on when they were just 8 months old and 2 years old at separate times. I can't believe someone could be so inhumane. It pisses me off when all these celebrities think they can do whatever they want. It is about time someone is cracking down on these assholes.

its never the dogs fault..its the raising...my mother has a lab/pit bull mix, which looks just like a giant pit bull/ this dog weighs about 100 pounds, and ANYBODY who sees it, is scared, until it comes over and kisses them..the sweetest dog ever! these dogs act like that because some moron taught them to act like that.

18-07-2007 08:03:24

Yeah if you ask me this is a thousand times worse than all of the "rain making" we've seen Pacman do.

It's not like Vick has been clean, he just gets off the hook a lot more. Remember the marijuana in the water bottle. I'm sure if he is suspended it will be at least 8 games, probably the season. I really hope Giddel sticks to his guns though, because he will look like a hypocrite not to at this point.

bballp6699

18-07-2007 08:12:27

Problem is that Michael Vick makes the NFL a lot more money then Pacman Jones does.

I am so freaking sick of hearing this stuff about NFL players. It seems like there is a new story every month, at least. There wsa a time in the NFL when these problems were taken care of on the field. I hope someone this season sacks him by picking up and slamming him to the ground, like what happened to one of the dogs they found in his yard. Then the guy could stand over Vick and say "Your dead dogs say Hello!" Do the Falcons go to Cleveland this year? That would be awesome. The dog pound would be pelting him with biscuits!

Except this is a much more serious crime than something that would be warranted by a hard sack and having milkbones thrown at you. I say make him sit out for the season, without pay, and also pay the Falcons for the salary of their replacement starting QB.

This is why i'm worried he is going to get off easy. Giddel kind of backed himself into a corner. Acting out and suspending players before they had their day in court. Now he is forced to continue to go down this path or risk being labeled a hypocrite not suspending Vick for exactly the reason you stated.

Dog fighting is something that's popular towards alot of inner city youth, any hood you go too you'll see a million pit bulls walking with their owners, it's the thugged up gangsta mentality that these guys just can't let go off and it's pathetic. You'll think at that age they would change up but they can't let go of their roots.

[quote282929261d]The government's case includes evidence that Vick and his cohorts "tested" pit bulls for ferocity. If the dogs failed the test, the indictment charges, they were executed by hanging or drowning. In one case, with Vick present, the indictment says a dog was slammed to the ground until it was dead. [b282929261d]In another incident, a dog was soaked with a hose, then electrocuted.[/b282929261d] Those aren't the sort of transgressions that lead to probation and community service. It's the kind of behavior that results in punishment, and the punishment will be jail time.[/quote282929261d]

I will be disappointed if he is not suspeded for a full year and has jail time. I Remember him laughing it all off a few months ago claiming that no matter what "everyone will still love Mike Vick". The guy is a moron who deserves everything i hope he gets! And the Falcons are stupid for not seeing this coming and trading their backup Quarterback! Vick has been walking the line for the past couple of years.

OJ was found innocent, you think he didn't kill his wife?

justinag06

20-07-2007 14:33:31

He is innocent until proven guilty, however we are talking about the NFL or the Atlanta Falcon's cleaning up their own organization's. It's like you get charged with a DWI and then your employer fires you before you ever step foot in court.

Also do you honestly believe he is innocent in this? The place was named after his hometown, it was at his house. There are a lot of eye witnesses confirming he was into dog fighting. Also this is the Federal Government who is bringing this case, not some hotshot D.A. trying to make a name for himself. If they are going to take on a high profile celebrity they built a damn good case, and are probably sure he is guilty of it.

I think they have a 95% conviction rate, so honestly football is the least of Vick's worries right now.

michea - you are wrong about the ps3 and you are wrong about this. Michael Vick MAY play FOOTBALL - but not in the United States and CERTAINLY not in the NFL. Pacman is suspended for a year for minor charges.... Vick has 2 felony charges against him and the media is EATING the NFL.

2 things important to the NFL Image and Money.

WR? Vick?

He would be a much better RB than he would make as WR or kick returner. He was a good QB though, not amazing accuracy or anything but very versatile. Trust me, coachs were afraid of what he could do. He was never completely consistant, but when he got it going he could slice through any defense with the fact that they have to cover both the long ball and the quick sneak for 5 yards
