Hehe. I held the new HP book today also. I work at UPS (loading). I grabbed a small box and out fell the book. I looked at the last page, and I think it looked different from the OP's image shrug I'm sure it was the new book too, Deathly Hallows. The other day, a truck going to El Paso was so full of HP books at the front of the trailer, that it tipped forward when the semi pulled away shock

Loved it, got it at midnight, but didn't get a chance to read it until last night (my mom drove down for the day yesterday, so no Harry Potter reading time). I finished it today after church.

I laughed, cried, and was thrilled that it wasn't a cliffhanger ending.

A local grocery store chain called Scott's was selling them, so I went there. I was at the store earlier getting some Vault when I heard one guy say they have Harry Potter in the back but can't sell them until midnight. I was the only one even in the store except two girls in front of me buying some beer, so I was the first one there to get it, and I was home ready to read by 1210. Yeah, I went 70mph basically the whole way home, big deal. I stayed up til 430am reading, woke up at 11am, read until my friend came and got me for the Guster concert, and brought it with me to finish in the car.

What do you mean? It seems like a pretty abrupt ending. I can't see how someone could continue to write unless it is like the "Adventures of Harry Potter's kids."

[spoiler9e59b51002]I had gone to fans sites to tie me over from book to book and there had been the discovery that if you rearrange Severus Snape it spells out Pursues Evans but it was misspelled or something. So people had already thought that as a major possibility. Theres other things that people had discovered that turned out to be true. I don't blame JK Rowling, its not like she was supposed to change her story because people had discovered a secret, it just made it a little less fun. I still liked it though the ending was iffy. Though that was probably because I didnt want it to end.[/spoiler9e59b51002]

I read the last 3 books in the past 5 days whenever I could. They were great. I just wish she continued with a different type of story. I don't think she cares about the money nearly as much she does her love for writing. She definitely seems like one of the people that does it because she loves it and would do it even if she wasn't making millions and millions of dollars.

If this was true, then why would she bother to make the seventh book, or hell, the last three books. I am pretty sure she made enough money from her first four books to last a lifetime.

I really don't want her to write more books. For those of us who have been reading these books since elementary school, we need some closure on the Harry Potter series. Sure, if she wrote, it would be a story the kids, but is still continuing the story.

Ok i came off as sounded as she was money hungry, but that's not exactly what i meant. i too read these since elementary school, i understand she needed to end it. i wish it didnt end though since i love it so much lol

I'd like to see a book or two that elaborated on the more vague parts of the storyline. Like the school years of voldemort, or what the hell happened during the fight in 7. I'd just like some of the loose ends tied up. Maybe is that what they mean by "more books"?

She still maintains shes not continuing with Harry Potter with the exception of saying on the today show that she "probably will" go ahead and write the Harry Potter Encyclopedia that had mentioned before. She would be writing it for charity. She said she wants a break before starting it, though she already has all the notes pretty much. She had backstories and stuff that couldnt fit in the books, and said it would also include more of what happened to everyone after the books.

And she is going to write other books that are unrelated to Harry Potter.

Can anyone tell me how the hell Neville got the sword? I'm not sure if I missed something but it went from them getting robbed by the goblin to neville swinging it at voldemort.... Wth?

so i have to say I loved the book. I loved the series. overall she is an excellent writer and i think that she captures kids well, of most ages. I would be interested in books describing the voldemort view of things from books 1-7. that would rock
